REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Miriam Foundation

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Switching Post Manager plans, organizes, implements and manages all administrative operations of the Miriam Switching Post. The Manager will develop and administer the budget, meet revenue goals, and work effectively with Foundation staff, Volunteer Chairman, volunteers, staff, donors, and customers. The Manager must understand and function within the policies adopted by the Miriam Board of Directors and administered by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to recruit, train, manage, motivate and coordinate volunteers and staff in a retail setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Computer savvy; experience with MS Word, database software, email lists and communications, web updates, social media, internet marketing and online research of upscale and antique merchandise.
• Experience in retail /resale operations, management and marketing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of antiques and high-end merchandise a plus.
• Volunteer management in a non-profit environment a plus.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS/ADMINISTRATIVE:
• Responsible for meeting or exceeding the revenue goals of the store on a quarterly basis.
• Update and maintain files, accurate donor base and other internal records.
• Assure proper accounting procedures, cash flow, payroll, security and deposits of all funds. Transfer appropriate records to Foundation Office to assure timely reporting, coding and payment to clients and vendors.
• Maintain up-to-date licensing and insurance on Switching Post truck.
• Maintain supplies and inventories.
• Coordinate, support and assist Donations Manager, providing supplemental documentation, special marketing/distribution of merchandise, and availability of funds for donation related expenses.

MANAGEMENT:
• Develop, operate and monitor an annual budget.
• Responsible for safety, maintenance and security of building, grounds and store contents.
• Assure proper and timely opening and closing of Switching Post.
• Maintain positive relationships and work effectively with all internal and external contacts. Respond appropriately and promptly to customers, donors, staff and volunteers.
• Hire, recruit, train, supervise and schedule cost efficient manpower to uphold all aspects of Switching Post.
• Coordinate volunteer recognition opportunities to promote retention.
