Development & Membership Associate, reports directly to the Director of Development & Marketing

General Objective:  Assist and support fundraising operations and membership initiatives.

Position Description: Coordinate and support development and membership initiatives with direction from Director of Development & Marketing. Initiatives include grant writing, special events, annual campaigns, staffing meetings, and membership. Will play a role in executing the development plan and the membership engagement plan.

Responsibilities

A. Development

1.    Provide administrative support to the Director of Development & Marketing.

2.    Coordinate and staff special events as necessary.

3.    Research and write grant requests, proposals, and reports as necessary.

4.    Assist in drafting appeals and coordinating annual mailings.

5.    Research potential donors and funders.

6.    Provide staff support for committee meetings.

7.    Ensure donor specific data is entered into DonorPerfect.

B. Membership

1.    Coordinate the annual dues billing process for members.

2.    Coordinate and staff membership events and provide staff support for committee meetings.

3.    Create, in coordination with the VP of Membership and the Director of Development & Marketing a new member packet.

4.    Ensure all new members receive new member packet.

5.    Provide staff support to the VP of Membership and her committees as they plan membership events and activities.

6.    Oversee all membership mailings in coordination with the Marketing Manager

C. Leadership

1.    Work with the Director of Development & Marketing to support the VP of Leadership and her committees.

2.    Coordinate details for board retreat, leadership classes and trainings.

3.    Prepare all name tags, name tents, and manuals as needed.

D.   General Administrative

1.     Prepare new member packets for distribution.

2.    Update all committee rosters in membership, leadership and development departments.

3.    Assure that all names are coded correctly in DonorPerfect.

4.    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

·       A Bachelor’s degree

·       1-3 years relevant experience in development

·       Experience with DonorPerfect preferred.

·        Strong organizational skills.

·       Must be highly organized, flexible, detail oriented, self-motivated and familiar with multiple          software applications.

·       Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

·       Experience working with volunteers preferred.

·       Ability to work on a team and with an entrepreneurial spirit.

·       Must be proficient in MS Office.

·        Evening and weekend availability

This is a full-time exempt position.  Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, PTO.  Some evening and weekend work is required.
