Each year, JFS supports the emotional and physical well-being of more than 50,000 children, families, and seniors in the St. Louis community.

JFS is looking for a full- or part-time psychological examiner to join our staff of committed professionals. The JFS Learning and Behavioral Diagnostic Center provides psychological evaluations for children ages 4 through 19. JFS’ evaluation team works with a broad range of children and families from all parts of St. Louis, with a wide variety of referral questions. JFS is a collaborative work environment with opportunities to partner with the counseling and psychiatry staff.

The psychological examiner administers psychological evaluations, including diagnostic assessment of cognitive abilities; academic skills; and behavior, social, and emotional development and functioning under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. Our examiner will meet with parents, develop an evaluation plan based on the individual child’s needs, administer appropriate testing, prepare written comprehensive assessment reports and client recommendations, and conduct feedback sessions with parents to communicate results of the evaluation and recommendations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, education, or related field and/or Educational Specialist Degree.
  • Professional licensure/certification in Missouri.
  • Training in administration and interpretation of psychological tests, including cognitive, academic, behavioral, and personality testing.
  • Training in psychometric methods and statistical procedures and their applications in psychological assessment.
  • A minimum of three years post-master’s experience in psychological/educational testing and assessment.
