Gateway Women's Access Fund

JOB DESCRIPTION:  PROGRAM MANAGER (part time)

Reports to:  Board President

Gateway Women’s Access Fund is seeking a part-time Program Manager who will work closely with the Board President to streamline organizational operations, implement efficient processes, and support the expansion of programs. This person should be highly organized. This position will be the first paid staff member for our growing organization.

About Gateway Women’s Access Fund: Founded in 2014, GWAF has been an all-volunteer non-profit providing public education and support for people needing reproductive health services, primarily by providing financial assistance to Missouri residents who cannot afford the full cost of abortion care. GWAF’s working Board is primarily located in St. Louis, MO. The clinics we primarily work with are located in Missouri as well as Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Illinois.

Primary Responsibilities

Sustainability:

  • Development Support: Manages and coordinates fundraising planning and implementation working with Board, Finance and Fundraising Committees, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, coordinating proposals, and administrating fundraising records and documentation.

Operations:

  • Mail: Regularly collects, and responds to incoming mail.
  • Volunteers and Interns: Coordinates volunteer initiatives. Motivates and empowers volunteers and interns to support GWAF’s programs; fully integrates volunteers into programs and activities.
  • Information technology: Oversees data management, technology consultants, web presence, and online registrations. Responsible for donor-database including data entry and reports. Supports programmatic data management.
  • Project Management: Manages and coordinates programmatic, development, and outreach projects.
  • Board support: staffs Board and committee meetings as needed. Coordinates materials and logistics for Board and committee meetings.

Programs:

  • Communications: Manages social media and newsletter volunteers and coordinates communications calendar.
  • Community Outreach: Manages community outreach activities including nurturing and developing relationships with local, state, and national stakeholders and organizations, and partner clinics.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of barriers to abortion access for Missourians in relation to systemic oppression
  • Experience in the field of reproductive justice and adjacent issues, demonstrated commitment to increasing abortion access
  • Knowledge of and experience with community outreach and engagement
  • Excellent understanding of using/learning technology including Google Suite, Slack, database systems, and project management software
  • Ability to work collaboratively, be flexible, and solutions-driven with volunteers and board members
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with diverse stakeholders
  • Must have own transportation and home office

Position Details:

This part-time position is grant funded and remote. The Program Manager will be expected to attend in-person meetings at least monthly in St. Louis, Missouri. Some travel required (less than 20%) within Missouri and adjacent states. The pay is $18-$20 per hour, approximately 20 hours per week.
