Overview:
Care and Counseling has an excellent opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated Fund Development and Grant Coordinator to join our team. The Fund Development and Grant Coordinator will help maximize and enhance the fund development department’s effectiveness under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Development & Marketing.
The Fund Development and Grant Coordinator is a member of the Development team and has strong relationships with organization leadership, leadership volunteers, and staff. This individual will help with corporate and foundation grant research, writing, and reporting. Additionally, this individual will assist with annual campaigns including direct mail, on-line giving, and congregational giving. This position will manage the agency website, oversee social media efforts, and will help with various communication needs, including design and print projects. Overall administrative support will also be a job responsibility.
The coordinator will:
• work with Development and Marketing Director to conduct a full range of activities required to assist in preparing, submitting, and managing grant and sponsorship proposals to foundation and corporate sources, including research, writing, and reporting in accordance with specific timelines & guidelines
• work with appropriate staff to gather information necessary to report to foundation and corporate funders on current grant programs
• work with the development director to implement a comprehensive annual appeal program, including strategies to incorporate volunteer groups, e-campaigns, donor acquisition, lapsed donor campaign and increasing average gift amounts
• manage data entry using eTapestry by Blackbaud; process donations, generate and track tax-receipts and acknowledgement letters
• assist with all aspects of fund development event planning as needed
• create event communications such as save the dates, invitations, e-blasts, programs, and other marketing materials with professionals as needed
• create and distribute e-blasts and online news
• manage agency website using WordPress, making updates as needed and developing ticketed pages for events
• develop, implement and manage our social media strategy, managing and oversee social media content; measure the success of social media efforts; keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies
• support external partner campaigns as scheduled, including but not limited to Give STL Day, Giving Tuesday, mental health awareness months
• keep abreast of trends and practices in St. Louis’ mental health, social service and community development efforts
• send relevant committee meeting notices, attend committee meetings, and take minutes
• guide development office functions including invoicing, materials/supplies acquisition, inventories, and provide overall administrative support
• support the Director of Development and Marketing as needed, with other duties as assigned
• demonstrate intellectual curiosity about issues related to Care and Counseling’s mission, with a strong sense of cultural and interfaith competency, with overall commitment to the C&C mission
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum Required Education: Associate’s or undergraduate degree from an accredited 2-year or 4-year university or college preferred in a program with strong emphasis in critical and analytical thinking. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in development with grant research/writing and annual giving.
Knowledge of eTapestry is a plus. Graphic design skills and proficiency in InDesign, Publisher, Constant Contact, and WordPress are a big plus. The successful candidate will be a strong and effective communicator, organized, and motivated. The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of, and experience with, the functions and practices of a successful, ethical, and conscientious nonprofit development department. Event management experience is preferred.

• Displays courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with grantors, funders, members of the community, and coworkers. Maintains a pleasant demeanor and works in good faith to improve internal and external relationships.

Standard workweek hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with occasional training and development events outside standard hours.
