Organization Description

The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic, creative, and self-motivated individual who is passionate about the performing arts in the St. Louis area.  The Foundation is seeking an Executive Director who will report to the Board of Directors and head an office of two full-time individuals.  Together, they will fulfill and deliver the Foundation’s vision and mission and implement, and refine the performing arts programming.

Mission Statement

The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation fosters, promotes, and encourages young people in the St. Louis region to discover and participate in the joy and wonder of live performances.

The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation’s programming includes:

St. Louis Teen Talent Competition which provides scholarships, prizes, and performance opportunities for emerging talent through an adjudication process that culminates in a professionally produced awards show on stage at the Fox Theatre.

Kids’ Night at the Fabulous Fox which introduces young audiences to live theater.

St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards which celebrate excellence in High School Musical Theatre.  High school productions are adjudicated throughout the year and outstanding artists are presented in a professionally produced awards show on the Fox stage. The Awards are produced collaboratively with the Fox Theatre and the Muny.

Broadway Master Classes which encourage young performers to learn and refine their craft from both local and touring professionals.

Educational Encores are an interactive encounter with touring Broadway cast and crew members providing the opportunity for young people to enhance their live theatre experience.

Special Projects which ignite imagination for expression through unique educational development opportunities.

Professional Qualifications

–     An undergraduate degree

–     A minimum of five years’ experience in the not-for-profit field

–     A minimum of three years’ experience of working in performing arts-production experience a plus

–     Experience supervising an office

–     Proficiency in Word, Excel, and QuickBooks

–     Experience in Marketing and Social Media

–     Ability to work collaboratively with the Board and many constituencies

–     Ability to represent the Foundation in the performing arts community

–     Demonstrable writing proficiency – correspondence, press releases, etc.

–     Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

–     Ability to attend to detail

–     Ability to multi-task

–     Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary

–     Access to a vehicle and ability to lift twenty-five pounds

Position Summary

–     Act as liaison with the Board to schedule meetings, set agendas, review investments, and provide updates on all happenings of the Foundation

–     Serve as lead manager for the major programming of the Foundation, which includes but is not limited to the St. Louis Teen Talent Competition and Kids’ Night at the Fox, and work with the Administrator to guarantee that all details are accomplished

–    Serve as account manager, award event coordinator, and partner representative for the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards with additional duties to be determined

–    Manage pre-production, production, post-production, and logistics of events

–    Facilitate office management

–    Oversee all budget and business matters to include, but not limited to payroll, taxes, budgets, insurance, and contracts

–    Provide leadership and vision to increase the Foundation’s presence in the performing arts  community and in the metropolitan area

Salary

$60,000-70,000 – commensurate with experience and credentials
