Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri

The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing the grant proposal process, including research, writing, submission, and reporting. This position will support the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s efforts to secure funding from private foundations, corporate foundations, and government sources to support our programs and initiatives.

This job requires working in the office three (3) days a week; two (2) days remotely. Details will be provided during the interview process.

The position is full time with a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as generous paid time off and a retirement plan. Job experience is considered with salary offer; the anticipated starting salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Grant Research and Strategy:
    • Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
    • Develop and implement a strategic plan for grant acquisition in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  2. Proposal Development and Writing:
    • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather information and develop compelling narratives that align with grant requirements.
    • Ensure all proposals and reports are submitted on time and meet the funder’s guidelines and criteria.
  3. Grant Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of grant activities, including submission deadlines, grant agreements, and reporting requirements.
    • Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
    • Prepare and submit timely grant reports, including progress reports and final reports, to funders.
  4. Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential grantors in partnership with GSEM Leadership.
    • Communicate regularly with funders to provide updates, respond to inquiries, and foster positive relationships.
    • Coordinate site visits and other interactions with funders as needed.
  5. Collaboration and Team Support:
    • Work closely with the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, program staff, and finance team to ensure accurate and effective grant proposals and reporting.
    • Assist with other fundraising activities, events, and initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, and grant management.
  • Proven track record of securing grants from private foundations, corporate foundations, and government sources.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using grant databases and other research tools.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

If your position requires that you drive an average of one (1) day per week or more, you must possess a valid state driver’s license and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. The environment for this position is clean and comfortable.

EXPOSURES

Work is performed in a normal indoor environment with limited exposure to outdoors.
