Rung for Women partners with employers and training partners who offer a fast track to career launch through short-term industry-specific training, on-the-job training, and apprenticeships. Our Members gain access to a community of like-minded women, health and wellness amenities, and childcare to support them in achieving their goals.
Since our launch in March of 2021, more than 500 women have begun a journey with Rung. Many of them have completed coaching and career training and have achieved better employment opportunities and increased their income. Position Summary
We’re looking for someone to work with employers who are looking for solutions to their talent acquisition and workforce development challenges, as well as supervise our volunteer and community engagement efforts. This position is responsible for establishing direction and the process to advance relationships with employers, volunteers, and community stakeholders, as well as ensuring smooth collaboration and engagement between stakeholders and Rung staff and members. How you’ll help Rung achieve our vision:
The Corporate Relations Manager cultivates and sustains relationships with current and potential employers in Rung’s network to ensure that there is a strong pipeline of career opportunities for Rung members. This position facilitates the connection between Rung’s program team and external stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial relationships and elevate Rung’s volunteer program and community engagement strategies. Finally, this position helps support the direction and goals of the Advancement Team.
What you will do:
- Manage Employer Relationships
- Serve as primary contact with Rung’s employer network hiring managers.
- Oversee the implementation of Rung’s Employer Network
- Manage and steward the Employer Network through newsletters, events, personal outreach, and other initiatives.
- Develop communication tools to clarify and position Rung Members’ unique value add to employers.
- Reinforce, to Rung’s Employer Network, understanding of woman-friendly policies/practices.
- Manage private LinkedIn Employer Network/Member group – Career Link.
- Help lead the discovery, development, and implementation of LadderLink, a proprietary data/communication tool to help gather member and alumni data as well as create a platform for employers and members/alumni to connect/communicate.
- Work with Employer Network to identify current and future skillsets job candidates’ needs.
- Maintain knowledge of the region’s current and future hiring needs and training practices.
- Represent Rung in organizations and at community events related to career pathways.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of communications and data entry.
- Supervision of Rung’s Volunteer & Community Engagement Efforts
- Supervise and manage the responsibilities of the Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator to grow a high-quality volunteer engagement program.
- Supervise and manage community engagement efforts of the Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator, including and not limited to, presentations, private and community tours of Rung, and community events and conferences.
- Develop goals for volunteer and community engagement efforts consistent with and supportive of team and organizational goals.
- Assist in the coordination of relationships, outreach, and community engagement efforts between the Employer Network,
- Volunteer/Engagement Coordinator, & Recruitment Coordinator.
- Support Rung’s Career Development Processes
- Gain understanding and provide an overview of employers’ current and future job openings to the Program Team.
- Collaborate to identify employers’ current and future training needs and confirm Rung’s career track trainings meet their needs.
- Partner with the Program Team to create opportunities for connection between the employers and Members, such as employer connects, information sessions, Career Fairs, and information sharing and networking.
What you need to bring us:
- Willingness to engage with prospective employers, conduct tours, attend meetings, and community conferences and events.
- Proven relationship-building skills, able to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals to achieve goals.
- Outcome-driven with strong project planning and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability in managing multiple relationships and priorities.
- Remain composed under stress, can tactfully address or escalate potential problems, and take responsibility for delivering on organizational commitments.
- Fast learner with the ability to understand a variety of job descriptions and career pathways.
- Strong customer service orientation, with extensive experience in effectively addressing, negotiating, and resolving issues with stakeholders (internal and external) as they arise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and CRM systems.
- Previous experience managing employees is preferred.
