Position Summary:
Turn the Page STL’s Associate Director of PreK through Third Grade Literacy Support will build and sustain relationships with St. Louis Promise Zone schools and districts by working with them to adopt and implement a system of quality literacy supports and “best bet” programming; lead our “STL Tutoring Collaborative” to increase quality and capacity; collect, analyze and measure school data; and support the team needs including planning and implementing our new bi-annual literacy forum.
This is a full-time, exempt 40 hours per week position, and includes health care and paid time off.
Primary Responsibilities:
Build and sustain relationships with St. Louis Promise Zone school district administrators and foundation leaders.
· Meet with school district leaders to assess their need and capacity for literacy support.
· Offer “Best Bet” literacy programming, including high-impact tutoring and other literacy programs showing measurable impact.
· Work with the school districts to adopt a system of literacy support, based on their needs and best practices, which may include kindergarten transitioning, high-impact tutoring, family engagement, assessments, and AI.
· Collect, analyze and measure school data, based on PreK – third grade reading assessments.
Lead the STL Tutoring Collaborative.
The STL Tutoring Collaborative is a collective of eighteen (18) tutoring organizations in the St. Louis area that provide tutoring services for low-income children and families during the school day, after school, or weekends.
· Research and share best practices for providing high impact tutoring with proven results.
· Schedule high-quality professional development for organizations to improve tutor training.
· Convene and lead monthly STL Tutoring Collaborative meetings.
· Meet one-on-one with the individual tutoring organizations to better understand their work and capacity.
· Create a catalog of tutoring organizations and their services
· Research and share high-impact tutoring technology tools.
· Work with school districts to choose the best high-impact tutoring program for their students and oversee implementation
· Work with a marketing firm to create a recruitment strategy for new tutors.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in teaching and/or education.
· Experience working with school administrators.
· An understanding of high-impact tutoring support for PreK through third grade students.
· Strong commitment to the Turn the Page STL mission.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills needed.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Must be punctual, dependable, a self-starter, and possess the ability to effectively multi-task and work independently.
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
· Experience and comfort using Microsoft Office Suite required.
· Use of personal vehicle required to travel to schools and tutoring organizations. Mileage will be reimbursed.
· May work virtually; however, must work in-person as needed.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000
