Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain completeness and accuracy of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Exercise discretion and proper management of confidential information.
- Supervise a team of three, including a Senior Accounting, Accounting and Billing Specialist, and Accounting and Accounts Payable Specialist
- Review the work completed by team members for accuracy, proper cutoff, and completeness, which includes: Posting journal entries to the general ledger
- Reviewing and submitting billing invoices
- Routing and approving expense invoices
- Reviewing month-end, quarter-end, or annual reconciliations
- Ensure financial compliance is maintained for donor and grantor funds
- Manage the audit process for various grantor, benefit plan, and financial audits.
- Maintain appropriate cost allocations between programs, departments, and grants.
- Oversee preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and unit/program costs
- Manage internal compliance and external reporting with funding sources
- Recommend additions, deletions or changes to accounting policies and procedures; review changes with executive management and implement accordingly
- Ability to interact positively and assist all agency departments and programs
- Provide training and guidance to new ECH staff on financial processes.
- Must be able to perform tasks independently as well as work with other team members.
- Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education/training.
- This position requires traveling between ECH’s St. Louis locations on a regular basis. Reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5 years full cycle accounting experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and knowledge of accounting internal controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Proficient software skills and ability to use technology efficiently and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Effective collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Public accounting experience
- Federal grants management experience
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge
