Position Description – The Professional Development Coordinator supports the growth and execution of Nine PBS’s educator professional development initiatives. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating training that increases educator engagement with Nine PBS learning resources. The Professional Development Coordinator oversees the scheduling of Nine PBS Freelance Educators to ensure smooth logistical operations for professional development events and provides direct support to schools, districts, and educational partners. They also contribute to the development and implementation of resources to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities – The following primary responsibilities are vital to successfully meeting the expectations of this position in an effective and efficient manner. This is not an exhaustive list, and areas of focus may fluctuate between the primary and secondary responsibilities, as needed.

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development sessions for educators, caregivers, and community partners.
  • Manage logistics for in-person and virtual training sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up.
  • Schedule Nine PBS Freelance Educators for sessions that they will facilitate within the community to ensure quality delivery of programs.
  • Collaborate with the Director of School Partnerships on content and resource development to meet educator needs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for schools and districts once partnerships and services have been confirmed.
  • Track and input participation data and outcomes into the Apricot data management system within 72 hours of events.
  • Work with the Supply Coordinator to ensure timely preparation and distribution of training materials.
  • Represent Nine PBS in professional communities by modeling inclusive and equity-centered practices.

Secondary Responsibilities – These are additional activities that are expected to be performed with this position.

  • Assist with evaluation of professional development programs and educator feedback to continuously improve offerings.
  • Stay informed about educational trends, state standards, and district initiatives in Missouri and Illinois.
  • Support community engagement events that feature Nine PBS learning resources.

Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in professional development, instructional coaching, or related educator training. Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills, with the interest and ability to lead projects. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications. Technology savvy with the ability to learn new platforms/software. Experience in the non-profit sector.

Hybrid Schedule – This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, typically working up to three days on-site each week. On-site work is expected for full-team meetings, trainings, and material preparation. Facilitation of professional development may occur in-person at schools, districts, and community organizations, or virtually, so the ability to work a varied schedule is required. Additional in-person work includes material preparation and relevant events.
