Director of Finance

Good Shepherd School for Children is seeking a Director of Finance. 30 hours/week. No direct reports, part of small, tight-knit mgmt. team. Under the direct supervision of the President, the Director of Finance handles the day-to-day operations related to tuition, accounts payable and receivables, therapy payables and receivables, payroll, human resource issues, and technology needs. Prepares for and executes the annual financial audit and 990; performs budget and forecasting; AP and AR management; grant and fundraising support.

The Director of Finance also works closely with board of directors and external auditors.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

1. Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or business administration 2. Minimum of five years’ experience working in a similar position.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
3. Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar system.
4. Fluent with basic IT needs.
5. Adept at working w/ payroll companies, banks, banking processes such as ACH and other.
6. Ability to work collaboratively, with the diverse skills of the administrative team, parents, therapists and teaching team members. We are a close-knit team and the small mgmt.. team wears many hats, and this may even sometimes include assisting briefly in a classroom or at the front desk.
7. Ability to effectively communicate with parents.
8. Self-motivated and able to follow through on job requirements.
9. Excellent organizational skills for multi-task responsibilities.
10. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
11. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate St. Louis metro area.
