ABOUT JAZZ ST. LOUIS
Jazz St. Louis began in 1995 as a presenter of regional, national, and international jazz musicians in a small, intimate atmosphere. Over the years, the organization has become a unique and successful non-profit arts organization focused on teaching jazz’s cultural significance and historical importance alongside presenting the music. Jazz St. Louis strives to be the leader in developing unique programming that engages youth and adults alike and preserves the shared cultural heritage embodied in jazz music.
JOB POSITION
Jazz St. Louis seeks a Box Office Associate who is eager to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have a strong passion for providing superior customer service to all guests.
DUTIES
· Ability to work flexible hours to include some evenings and weekends
· Answer and return phone and email messages in a timely manner
· Assist Jazz St. Louis patrons with phone, internet, and in-person sales
· Print and process ticket orders for mail delivery
· Serve as Will Call, and provide customer service during performances
· Data entry
· Assist with database clean-up and maintenance
· Assist the Associate Director of Patron Services with the proofreading of the season brochure and order form for the coming season as needed
· Assist the Associate Director of Patron Services with the processing of subscription and single ticket exchanges and refunds
· Assist the Associate Director of Patron Services with the facilitation of ticketing and seating accommodations for rental and private events as needed.
· Assist as needed with the building of shows in Tessitura for current and upcoming seasons, as both single tickets and subscriptions
· Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Patron Services
QUALIFICATIONS
· At least 1 to 2 years of customer service experience preferred
· Professional demeanor with excellent telephone etiquette
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Ability to multitask
· Willingness to develop a basic understanding of jazz and jazz artists
BENEFITS
You will be entitled to ten (10) days of PTO (which accrue with service); 11 holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, either the day before or after Christmas; two (2) personal days; six (6) days sick leave; and fully paid medical benefits for the employee with an opportunity to purchase dental and vision coverage at a discounted rate.
With the approval of the President & CEO, five (5) days of vacation time will be carried over to the next year. Carryover vacation time is not used within the year will be canceled. Pay in lieu of vacation is not permitted except when a person resigns, retires, or termination occurs.
Part of this agreement includes a successful background check conducted by our HR company, Insperity. We will schedule this immediately. As a team member at JSL, you are required to follow the rules and regulations outlined in the Confidentiality Agreement and Employee Handbook, as well as abide by the policies set forth by JSL.
COMPENSATION
$38,000.00 to $45,000 annually.
