Position Overview – HOME WORKS! is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Support Specialist to provide essential administrative, operational, and programmatic support across our functional teams. This role is integral to our success in fundraising, donor engagement, program implementation, family engagement, and day-to-day operations.

Reports to: Director of Program Operations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising and Development:
    • Assist with administrative support for fundraising campaigns and events.
    • Manage donor databases and tracking donations.
    • Prepare fundraising materials and reports.
  • Program Support:
    • Provide administrative and logistical support for program implementation, including being present at school-based events.
    • Volunteer recruitment and management:
      • Coordinate volunteer opportunities with Program Leaders
      • Cultivate and maintain volunteer pipeline
      • Schedule volunteers and oversee participation
    • Maintain program supplies, records, and documentation.
    • Assist with program evaluation and reporting, including direct outreach to families to gather feedback and testimonials.
  • General Administrative Tasks:
    • Manage office supplies and equipment (in tandem with Ops Coordinator).
    • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence (mailers, helping Operations with getting mail out, etc.).
    • Maintain files and records, both physical and electronic.
    • Provide other general administrative support to staff as needed.
  • Communication and Outreach:
    • Assist with the development and dissemination of marketing materials.
    • Interact with donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate community outreach efforts.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Assist with program expense tracking and reporting.
    • Provide support for additional special projects and initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Management skills including short- and long-term planning, directing and motivating volunteers.
    • Extremely well-organized; a creative self-starter, capable of handling multiple tasks, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with donor management software a plus
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with non-profit operations and fundraising principles a plus
  • Experience with Google Office Suite, Constant Contact, and DonorPerfect (or other fundraising software) a plus
  • Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • At least three years related work experience preferred

Work Environment:

HW! prides itself on cultivating a balanced, flexible, and rewarding work environment. Position responsibilities may take place in a combination of in-person office and remote work settings. Infrequent nights and weekends may be required.
