Director, Recruitment –  Part-Time (15-20 hrs/week)

Salary: $1375/monthly

Education-based nonprofit offers part-time, year-round, flexible work (average 15 hrs/week August – December and average 20 hrs/week January – July) for motivated, highly-organized, and energetic individual. Primary responsibility will be to expand outreach to educators and families of math-talented students in the St. Louis region, obtain nominations, promote new programs, implement program registrations, and support other administrative duties as assigned to support the summer and after-school programs.

Our part-time staff all work remotely, flexible opportunity with some evening/weekend work during nomination season. Local travel required, primarily to schools, events, and staff meetings.

Summary:

Project MEGSSS (MEGSSS.org) obtains mathematics program nominations from educators and parents throughout the St. Louis region, as well as promotes newer programs that do not require nomination, but are open to students interested in mathematics challenge.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the recruiting and registration process, building relationships with educators, schools and families. The Director will actively develop relationships with the education/gifted community and seek out opportunities to promote/educate our constituents about programs. Responsibilities will include summer camp fairs and other recruiting events, and all marketing and communications about programs and the nomination process. The Director will manage the registration process to ensure a seamless experience for families. In addition, this position helps support administrative and logistical duties for our summer camps as well as provides on-site support. This position supports other tasks as assigned.

•     Make recommendations for annual goals and strategy, including: a list of targeted districts/educators, proposed changes in nomination/recruiting strategy and updating the marketing plan

•     Researching options for new connections, events and marketing opportunities

•     Implement customer service by being the face of the program to prospective families

•     Develop relationships with educators and partners, through phone conversations, targeted emails, personal meetings, presentations at educator events, etc.

•     Maintain and expand the educator database as appropriate

•     Schedule, organize, and attend summer fairs, informational meetings, test events, etc.

•     Answer registration and scheduling questions for new and current families

•     Execute regular communications with prospects/potential registrants

•     Develop new marketing materials

•     Create and supervise mass mailings

•     Recruit volunteers to help support outreach events

•     Support Summer Camp Director with logistics, materials, and onsite support

This role is responsible for meeting goals that are expected to result in increased awareness and participation in programs. He/she reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with other staff.

Skills:

Candidate must be highly organized, energetic, and able to work independently.  Much of the required work may take very small increments of time (phone calls, setting appointments, coordinating events), but candidate must be reliable, able to fairly track time for grant reporting, and able to check e-mail daily. Should be comfortable with Skype or FaceTime for meetings.

•   1-2 years of experience in customer service, marketing and/or community outreach

•   Must be comfortable making cold calls to educators/administrators in area schools/districts.

•   Comfortable organizing events and developing volunteer resources to assist with events

•   Comfortable with technology (Word, Excel, GoogleDocs, can learn to work with web-based databases)

•   Customer service orientation, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•   Able to lift 15 pounds
