Saint Louis Ballet Company

Saint Louis Ballet seeks a Development Events Coordinator to plan and execute donor cultivation events including patron receptions, private luncheons, special donor fulfillment events and our annual Gala. This position requires the ability to execute an event from start to finish.  This includes: Use of production schedules and timelines; working with vendors to arrange catering, décor, entertainment and rentals; working with volunteer Gala committee; management of event records, invitation lists and reservation tracking; data entry in donor database and Constant Contact. Professional and mature demeanor and judgment, punctuality, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • The ability to anticipate and plan for a variety of scenarios; ability to clearly and promptly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Extreme organizational ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Google docs.
  • Experience with Little Green Light or similar donor database (such as Donor Perfect, Patron Manager or Raiser’s Edge). Data entry ability.
  • Extreme attention to detail, including excellent proofreading skills and revisions of lists, letters, invitations and other written documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to discretion.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, Board members, donors and volunteers.
  • Ability to monitor and adhere to budgets.
  • Teamwork ethic; willingness to help colleagues
  • Two years’ experience managing development events, paid or as a volunteer.

Must own a car, have a valid driver’s license and insurance. Must be able to work from home as well as at Saint Louis Ballet studios in Chesterfield and at varied event venues. Average of 20 hours per week from May 2019 through June 1, 2020.  Hours may vary according to the event schedule. Sporadic weekend and evening events are an important element of this job.

About Saint Louis Ballet:  Saint Louis Ballet Company is the only professional ballet company in the metropolitan St. Louis region.  We employ 21 professional dancers; produce four mainstage productions at Touhill Performing Arts Center on the UMSL campus, and two programs of contemporary dance at the Grandel Theatre in the Grand Center Arts District. SLB serves the community through outreach and education programs in the metropolitan region, and is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, registered in the State of Missouri.
