Optimist International

Reports To:    Senior Director, Donor Services

Position Overview: This individual will be part of a team dedicated to accomplishing the fundraising goals and objectives of Optimist International Foundation. The Donor Services Coordinator primary responsibility will be to enter gifts into the Raiser’s Edge database system and prepare timely acknowledgement letters. Accuracy, attention to detail, follow-through and a service-oriented outlook is vital. Self-motivation is important, as is the ability to work as a part of a small team.

Primary Job Responsibilities: Word processing, data entry, telephone communications; general support for the Foundation staff.

Qualification Requirements:

Knowledge: Solid computer knowledge with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. Must possess the ability to take direction yet work independently and have the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while demonstrating patience, tolerance and a sense of humor. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn and possess a strong service commitment.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an active office environment. Preferred experience with Raiser’s Edge. Work in a not-for-profit setting a plus.

Education: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least five years of progressively responsible experience in an office or other professional environment may be substituted for an Associate’s degree.

Job Duties:
·         Primarily responsible for donor gift entry, other data entry tasks, and database cleanup

·         Prepare accurate and timely acknowledgement letters

·         Act as liaison for Club volunteers, District volunteers, and International Committees

·         Represent the Foundation at the annual Optimist International Convention, as needed

·         Communicate daily with volunteers via phone, e-mail, electronic newsletter and face-to-face means, providing training on duties

·         Prepare for Board meetings, trainings and other events.

·         Distribute monthly correspondence to Board, Volunteers and Staff.

·         Participate in special projects as requested.

·         Other duties as assigned.
