Crown Center for Senior Living
Description/Summary: Direct service position at a not-for-profit independent senior housing facility and community center. Serves as support for the community engagement team, communicating the mission/values of the agency while supporting the independence of older adults.
Reports To: Community Engagement Director
Hours: Part Time; 20-30 hours negotiable (position is not currently eligible for remote work); some weekends and evenings required
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour depending upon education and experience; may be eligible for excellent benefits

Skills/Qualifications:
- Highly trustworthy individual; ability to deal with confidential information with discretion
- Outstanding verbal communication skills; enjoys working directly with people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; experience with various web-based tools (e.g. google docs, youtube, zoom, square, various data collection systems)
- Interest in working with a multi-disciplinary staff team, diverse client population
- Possesses thoughtful and thorough planning skills, offers best practices for communicating information; is highly organized
- Associate/bachelor’s degree (actively working toward or achieved) and relevant work experience required; knowledge of Jewish community, senior living and/or older adult programming, or area non-profit work experience preferred
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Direct service to residents and community program participants including planning, implementing/attending in-house programs and trips; including periodic special events, arts and culture, Jewish holidays programs, fitness and essential service trips
- Initiates and maintains contact with area program partners (NORC, Jewish Federation of St. Louis, OASIS, COCA, area synagogues) to schedule trips and programs off site
- Initiates outreach to residents and community participants to learn about interests, unmet needs, feedback on programming
- Coordinates with maintenance staff and driver to schedule programs on and offsite, communicating sign up information, schedule changes, and logistics details as part of a larger team
- Submits program information to be included in various newsletters for publication to resident and community participants
- Supports the ongoing efforts of close caption television in the buildings to communicate programs information and to provide sources of engagement to those unable to leave their apartments – including uploading programming from partner organizations and recording new programs for internal use
- Maintains inventory of current program supplies; performs other related tasks as assigned
