Serving women who are pregnant and homeless, the Haven of Grace provides a safe, nurturing home, educational programs, and long-term support for mothers and their children through a residential shelter and transitional apartments on one campus, and a long-term aftercare program.

Apartments:              7 apartments

Budget:                       $1.2 million

POSITION TITLE:   Therapist

STATUS:   Full-time, Exempt

POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director

POSITION SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB SUMMARY

The Therapist is responsible for providing therapy to all agency clients. This position is specifically responsible for managing the practicum/intern program. This position is a member of the agency’s program team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.

·         Provide therapy, counseling, intervention and/or education to clients in a professional manner.

·         Conduct home visits for aftercare clients and provide individual therapy sessions for aftercare residents on a regular basis.

·         Provide individual therapy sessions for shelter and apartment residents twice a week.

·         Provide group therapy sessions on appropriate topics for all clients.

·         Provide screenings and psychosocial assessments.

·         Create and maintain treatment plans utilizing evidence-based therapies.

·         Maintain case files on all clients and complete required documentation for the agency and its funders.

·         Create and manage the practicum/intern program.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

·         Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling, or Psychology with a minimum of two years’ experience.

·         Missouri Licensure required.

·         Experience in child, individual, group and/or family therapy required as well as knowledge and experience in trauma-focused treatment, play therapy, art therapy, etc.

·         Knowledgeable of child, adolescent, and early adult development.

·         Demonstrated knowledge of family systems assessments.

·         Participate in clinical supervision, staff and/or team meetings, as necessary.

·         Willing to be on call and able to work evening, overnight and/or weekends, when necessary.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the work for this position is performed under normal office conditions.  Some activity may occur outside normal work hours.  Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable personal transportation, and will be reimbursed for mileage at current agency rate for qualifying mileage.
