Girls on the Run St. Louis

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Girls on the Run St. Louis Program & Development Director and consistent with the mission and values of Girls on the Run St. Louis (GOTR-STL), the Development Coordinator is responsible for the marketing of Girls on the Run program and events, as well as planning and supporting philanthropic efforts and events.

This position is full-time, 30 hours/week with the opportunity to decrease hours to 20 hours/week in June and July. Weekly hours may vary, with occasional evening and weekend obligations (meetings, events, etc.). The annual compensation range for this hourly, non exempt position is between $30,000-$32,000 depending on experience. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Manages the design of promotional materials across print and digital platforms such as direct mail, email marketing, social media, newsletter, special events, race promotions, and other materials.
  • In collaboration with the Program & Development Director, develop and implement strategies for marketing that increase brand and mission recognition of Girls on the Run St. Louis.
  • Advise and assist staff in all areas of marketing needs such as program, charity athletes and 5k.
  • Support charity athletes through development of marketing materials, fundraising platforms and donor acknowledgement.
  • Work directly with the Program & Development Director, as well as the Executive Director to drive philanthropic support through targeted marketing and messaging campaigns.
  • Create streamlined and consistent communications for 5k constituents: general participants, sponsors, VIP guests.

Event, Cultivation & Stewardship Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and support all special events to include, but not limited to: Gala, Giving Tuesday, Lunafest, annual 5ks, Young Professionals events, Annual Appeal,  as well as smaller fundraising events and opportunities.
  • Maintain database including donor data; import donor data from program registration, 5k registration and special events; prepare timely donor acknowledgements and maintain newsletter subscriber list.
  • Serve as primary liaison and support to the Young Professionals Board and Young Friends Group.
  • Manage OneCause event platform development, execution and reporting.
  • Create and oversee all fundraising events in Pinwheel for special events, charity athletes, Young Professionals Board events.
  • Support foundation grant application process in collaboration with the Program & Development Director.
  • Support the implementation of the GOTR St. Louis 5k events.
  • Collaborate with the program team on ongoing projects.

Organizational Support

  • Provides excellent customer service through phone inquiries, walk-ins and welcoming meeting participants and visitors.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Responsible for helping support the organization in areas outside of development when needed in the areas of administration and operations.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a role model for Girls on the Run, exhibit the core values and work to achieve the Girls on the Run mission.
  • Develop positive relationships with volunteers, donors, sponsors, board members, community and staff.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to accomplish detail-oriented tasks while simultaneously maintaining an understanding of the organization’s strategic plan goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, CRM software, design software (i.e. Canva) and social media.
  • Prior experience working with a CRM database or data management platform.
  • Prior development/marketing or nonprofit organization experience.
  • Effective verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Experience with Girls on the Run curriculum and/or program.
  • A collaborative nature and skills that reflect and value a team approach consistent with the Girls on the Run Core Values.
