Job Title: Director of Advancement
Position Reports to: Reports to the President
Position Summary
The Director of Advancement will collaborate with the Incarnate Word Academy President to implement a comprehensive annual giving program which will increase philanthropic support for Incarnate Word Academy. This individual will focus on attracting new donors while renewing and upgrading current donors, as well as increasing the overall annual fund participation rate.. This will include co-managing a portfolio of leadership gift prospects, the annual fund strategy, advancement services and supporting the fundraising goals of the institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the President in developing and executing IWA’s comprehensive strategic plan.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors, moving them to initiate or expand their financial support.
Attract and increase the current number of annual donors. Manage a portfolio of new prospects and existing donors, overseeing and personally executing solicitations and the closing of leadership gifts of $1,000 and above, in order to achieve predetermined financial goals.
Collaborate with the President to implement a comprehensive Annual Giving Program including strategic planning, annual fund appeals, special events and stewardship.
Facilitate prospective donor cultivation and solicitation to meet or exceed Auction sponsorship goals, Fund-A-Need and attendance goals.
Provide strategic and creative direction to elevate and increase the annual giving program through print, digital, social or video collateral.
Coordinate with the Director of Communications and Advancement to provide statistics, student outcomes, alumni stories, and other information needed for donor communications, stewardship, social media and the website.
Manage Advancement Services Coordinator, Director of Special Events and Alumnae Relations and Reunion Giving Specialist.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 5 years of advancement experience.
Demonstrated skill in gift solicitation of leadership gifts of $1,000 and above.
Experience coordinating nonprofit donation strategies and coordinating fundraising initiatives.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar fundraising software a plus.
Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Fluency with donor tracking software and social media platforms; proficiency with Raisers Edge Nxt preferred.
Ensure the proper receiving, allocating, recording, and acknowledging of all gifts.
Talented team leader and team participant, adept at working with staff members with diverse skills, gifts, expertise and experience.
