YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis

The Development Manager position will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding financial gifts from individuals and families in the St. Louis region. The ideal candidate will have experience and success in fundraising and will build relationships with mid-level donors, with the goal of cultivation and solicitation. The position reports to the Chief Development Officer and works in close collaboration with the Development and Marketing teams. No Direct Reports.

Mid-Level Donors

Research, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, meeting activity metrics and revenue goals.

Assist the CDO in the identification of major donors to be met with.

Assist the CDO in stewardship of major and mid-level donors after meetings, events, etc.

Start and maintain a mid-level donor club.

Integrate fully into the Development team, adding strategic value to the existing fundraising efforts.

Be proactive in identifying new prospects, building relationships, and networking to build a portfolio of donor prospects.

Maintain accurate records of activities in the Development department database (Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud). Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress and outcomes against agreed upon goals.

Respond to donor leads in a timely manner. Work proactively to network and expand the portfolio.

Adhere to professionalism and fundraising best practices as demonstrated by moves management industry standards and donor-centered methodology.

Event Coordination

Plan and execute the 24-Hour fundraising campaign geared toward expanding the donor pipeline. This includes assisting in the solicitation of matching gifts prior to the event, setting up team captains, and post-event communication, among other things.

Provide support for fundraising and stewardship events.

Work with the Development team on any additional event/fundraiser needs, both prior, the day of, and post event.

Other duties as assigned by CDO.

Formal Education

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred or comparable work experience. 3-5 years or more experience in development or fundraising, 5-7 preferred. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, and Microsoft Office software a plus.

Salary Range – $60,000-$70,000
