YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis

The Maintenance Technician will monitor, inspect and make necessary repairs or installations to assist and develop a safe, efficient and effective maintenance program including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Construction. While also tracking, relocating and recording the programs equipment, property and supplies as required by the department. Complete other duties as assigned to meet or exceed daily operational needs including 24/7 emergency services.

• Perform maintenance, repairs and support functions related to a variety of trades (i.e., electrical, lighting, grounds, galley repair, HVAC, carpentry, and painting); completes a variety of tasks which includes re-lamping, plumbing installation & repair, replacement of
restroom stalls, partitions & related hardware, cleans drains, general mechanical repairs, general cleaning primarily at work locations, mechanical & shop spaces, transports & sets up of furniture, signage, fixtures, parts and other items as needed; works with and/or trains
under the Facilities Director in the performance of daily job assignments as assigned.  Familiarity with project management technology preferred.

• Access other system problems, repair if possible or report further contractor assistance needed to supervisor.

• Relocate YWCA property to meet operational needs.

• Perform inspections, monitoring and open/close of building as assigned.

• Assist in the 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.

• Assure that YWCA premises are safe, secure and clean.

Formal Education

Technical or vocational school education. High school diploma or
equivalent; EPA Universal Certification preferred; Familiarity with project
management technology preferred.
