WHO WE ARE:  Gateway Arch Park Foundation is a non-profit conservancy dedicated to ensuring Gateway Arch National Park and its surroundings are a welcoming, vibrant, and well supported public space for generations to come.

The Foundation partnered with the National Park Service, Great Rivers Greenway, Bi-State Development, City of St. Louis, Jefferson National Parks Association, and other civic interest groups to revitalize the Gateway Arch grounds, museum and surrounding areas.

OPPORTUNITY:  This is a unique opportunity to join a small, passionate, collaborative team of professionals committed to the future of one of the world’s most iconic national parks which defines the St. Louis region.  By joining the Foundation, you will play an integral part in moving our mission forward as the conservancy for Gateway Arch National Park.

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and passionate professional to coordinate and implement integrated communications programming for Gateway Arch Park Foundation, including earned, owned and paid strategies.

–        This individual reports to the Digital Content Coordinator with additional leadership from the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing.

–        The Communications and Marketing Coordinator works with senior staff, members of the development, events, volunteer, and administrative teams, National Park Service staff, partner organization staff, PR team staff, creative team staff, and other staff members at various media outlets across the St. Louis area to promote mission-focused goals and programs annually.

–        This is a full-time, non-exempt position in a hybrid, flexible working environment.

–        Benefits include vacation and sick pay, health, dental and vision insurance, parking stipend, 401K, long & short-term disability coverage.

–        The salary range is $40,000-$50,000.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Digital Content Coordinator and additionally support the Assistant Director, Communications and Marketing with day-to-day activities across the Foundation’s integrated communications channels, including paid, owned and earned channels

–        Support the content creation (researching, writing and editing) and management of the Foundation’s:

  •             Digital properties (website), including researching, drafting and editing news updates, blog posts and other website content
  •  Social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), including drafting and scheduling posts, community management and promoting events
  •   Foundation messaging, including copywriting, event signage, sourcing photo and video content, etc.
  • Email marketing, including creation and distribution of routine email content (e-newsletters, event promotion, community outreach, etc.)

–        Assist with other Foundation communications projects as needed

–        Participate in partner projects and meetings

–        Perform research and data analysis projects (i.e. through internet resources, database searches, stakeholder interviews, media analytics, etc.) quickly and comprehensively

–        Compile quarterly and annual communications reports

–        Edit and proof materials to ensure the Foundation mission and our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility permeate all materials

–        Participate in opportunities for learning/development and networking by attending conferences, seminars, and functions concerning communication and nonprofit topics

–        Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality

–        Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

–        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field or equivalent preferred

–        At least 1-3 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, community engagement, or related field

–        Excellent writing and editing skills

–        Strong skills and experience in social media management and operation

–        Additional experience in earned media, digital marketing, email marketing is a plus

–        Possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and initiative as well as vision and creative problem solving skills

–        Possess ability to work independently and within a collaborative environment with all levels of staff, partner employees, guests, and members of the media

–        Results-focused approach and commitment to go the extra mile

–        Strong interpersonal skills

–        High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

–        Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and work within Foundation procedures and guidelines

–        Experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines

–        Willing to work on some nights, weekends, and holidays for Foundation events and programming

–        Must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

–        Excellent skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

–        Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

–        Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro is a plus

–        Familiarity with Sprout Social or related social media management tools is a plus

–        Experience with DSLR cameras (photo and video capture) is a plus

–        Website CMS experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:  The individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job satisfactorily as outlined in this job description; where necessary for a qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions of the job, reasonable accommodations will be provided.

–        Ability to utilize computer keyboard and sit for extended periods of the workday within an office environment

–        Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs when transporting supplies

–        Hands on participation with event and booth setup and staffing, employees, at times, staff public and private events at booths and tables outdoors and indoors

–        Ability to operate personally owned vehicle

–        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is at times exposed to outside weather conditions while moving between various park buildings and on park trails.

–        The general noise level in the office environment is moderate to quiet with some exceptions.
