Summary:

Responsible for the management of the J’s social media presence, digital communications, and online relations. This includes social media management, content creation, online community management, website development/updates and more. This individual will execute the J’s online presence and leverage current trends to gain awareness of and affinity for the St. Louis Jewish Community Center through online communications, public relations, and online community building.

Responsibilities:

Social Media & Online Community Management:

  • Create content and implement ongoing social media and digital initiatives for the wide range of J programs, initiatives, and brand.
  • Maintain and grow the St. Louis Jewish Community Center’s online presence in a manner that attracts new audiences and engages current members.
  • Identify and implement new ways to engage online that expands the J’s reach and brand awareness, including utilizing community influencers.
  • Provide reputation management by monitoring online feedback through social listening and identify opportunities and threats in the social media and digital space.
  • Execute advertising campaigns through social media platforms. Monitor and track results.
  • Research, identify, and implement the newest online marketing trends.
  • Provide benchmarks and analyze data from social media initiatives to make recommendations on future communications planning and other decision-making.
  • Optimize digital communications for maximum performance on targeted social platforms.
  • Conduct keyword research to drive content creation and online advertising.

Communications & Content Creation:

  • Work collaboratively with J program staff to collect, write, and publish content for marketing initiatives, websites, social media, fundraising opportunities, partner websites and more.
  • Manage agency core copy for programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Create content and update jccstl.org for the purposes of promoting programs online and search engine optimization.
  • Maintain social media, email, and press release content calendars.
  • Provide copywriting and proofreading for agency programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Provide input and execute email marketing campaigns to support membership development, ticket sales, program participation, etc.

Public Relations:

  • Create, proofread, and disseminate press releases to traditional media outlets, as well as online.
  • Update and ensure accuracy of online listings of events (jccstl.org, news sites, community calendars, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
    Two+  years of professional experience in online marketing, web design or social media, may include internships.
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills; writing samples required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in teams.
    Skilled and updated knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and best  practices.
  • Proficiency  with Microsoft Office products, Google Docs, etc.
    Expert  knowledge in WordPress is preferred.
  • Basic Salesforce navigation is a plus.
    Experience  in content management systems (i.e.: Trello, etc.) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic public relations principles and practices is preferred.
  • Experience working with email marketing software and campaign management is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred.
  • Passion or and knowledge of Jewish topics a plus, but not required.
