Position Summary

The Director of Advancement will oversee a comprehensive fundraising program on behalf of Logos and has the oversight of the day-to-day activities related to fundraising and works with the Director of Admissions regarding general marketing. Daily activities include, but is not limited to, strategic initiatives for securing major gifts, implementing a robust alumnus giving program, defining stewardship, and prospecting tactics, enhancing special fundraising/cultivation events, and developing new approaches to supporting traditional advancement initiatives. This position reports to the Head of School.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual and three-year advancement plan to meet established development goals and objectives.
  • Identify potential fundraising channels; effectively communicate the benefits of Logos’ services creating awareness and demand for Logos’ services and giving opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Head of School, Board of Directors, Development Committee, grant writer and other appropriate staff in implementing and coordinating Logos’ development efforts.
  • Coordinate all aspects of annual giving; execute strategies to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and enhance donor base, and prospects.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the major gifts program; execute strategies to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and enhance donors and prospects.
  • Responsible for management of Logos’ fundraising events; Along with managing consultants, work with appropriate individuals to develop and monitor timelines and deadlines; develop programs for events including topics and speakers; and ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • In conjunction with Director of Admissions, the Marketing coordinator, and outside Marketing firm, develop and implement a communication plan which includes advertising, brand identity, media relations and marketing that support relationships between the school and its external constituents which support private giving to the school.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 -7 years in nonprofit fundraising
  • Strong working knowledge of development best practices, trends in education and development, fundraising tools, technology and donor software and research
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, to demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to development activities, and to use discretion in interactions with donors, prospects, volunteers, and others
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
