Generate Health builds collective power to advocate for racially equitable policies and practices that center, support and celebrate Black families throughout their pregnancy and parenthood journeys.   We are a multi-racial coalition committed to eliminating racial health disparities impacting Black moms and babies by dismantling and reconstructing systems of maternal care to be equitable and just by uplifting the experiences and leadership of Black women and birthing people. We make change by organizing networks of community leaders, organizations and providers, utilizing data and advocating for policy and systems change.  Generate Health seeks to acquire & leverage the abundant resources available in our region to participate in the dismantling of systemic inequity and achieve its vision for the region by 2033.

Position Summary

Generate Health is looking for an organized and efficient administrative support professional passionate about justice in maternal and infant health. The Office Coordinator is an important part of the Generate Health team, responsible for performing administrative, financial, and human resources activities. This role ensures the work of the team is fully supported and the organizational business is completed efficiently and effectively with an equity lens. This position reports to the Executive Director.

  • Evaluate vendor effectiveness and make changes as needed

Responsibilities

●      Manage vendor relationships including the landlord, printers, suppliers, IT equipment support, and insurance broker.

●      Review and renew organizational insurance coverage annually.

●      Implement purchasing and accounts payables processes within nonprofit best practices.

●      Maintain a very organized system of filing, within teh document retention policy, and create new systems when necessary.

●      Provide timely and proactive management of the office environment, including office machines, supplies, and facility. Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, & furniture.

●      Make travel arrangements for staff and assist volunteers who may travel on Generate Health business.

●      Ensure staff have laptops, equipment, and supplies.

●      Ensure staff has training and access to utilize the shared file network, VOIP, printer, Office 365, and other business systems.

●      Oversee fiscal sponsorship agreements.

●      Coordinate payroll process and serve as primary contact with outsourced HR provider.

●      Organize the personnel onboarding process by preparing new employee materials and orienting them to office procedures and adding/removing employees from coverage.

●      Contribute to the building of an equity-centered culture within Generate Health.

Required Qualifications:

●      2+ years of experience as administrative assistant or office manager, preferably in a nonprofit setting

●      Deep knowledge of Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, Power Automate, etc)

●      Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills in proposing new ways to create efficiencies

●      Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask while meeting important deadlines

●      Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive, complex,

and/or controversial situations

●      Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent people skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders

●      Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in collaborative teams

●      Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and responsibilities

●      Knowledge of racial equity & ability to reflect on where you are in your own journey

Salary and Benefits:   non-exempt, part-time position of approximately 20 -24 hours/week at $20 to $23 per hour.  Part-time employees receive 10 days PTO (prorated first calendar year), 10 Holidays (7 of which are floating), and paid time off also includes two weeks when Generate Health closes the office.

Generate Health is located within Delmar DivINe, a multi-use development of almost 40 nonprofit organizations, residential apartments, and business including a pharmacy, urgent care clinic, credit union, and deli.  Working in the Delmar DivINe includes access to a fitness center, professional development, and opportunities for collaboration.
