POSITION: Executive Director: Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry

Full-time Position- Starting about April 1, 2024

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Manage operations of food pantry open to the public approximately 15 hours per week.  Manage personnel of pantry operations and office- 100% volunteer workforce.  Manage financial resources of the pantry including fundraising, donations and procurement of food & supplies.  Report to the Board of Directors.  See attached job description.

Job Description: Executive Director-Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry

About Us: 

Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry (RCCFP) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing food to families living within the boundaries of the Ritenour School District.  RCCFP is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.

Summary:

Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director, who reports to the Board of Directors.  This is a full-time salaried position.  This position will require approximately 25 hours per week on-site at the pantry located at 9303 Midland Blvd., Overland, MO  63114, with the remaining time either on-site or off-site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Apply creativity, innovation, best practices and exceptional leadership to all responsibilities and functions listed

*Develop strategic fundraising plan that aligns with the pantry mission

*Oversee and actively lead all fundraising activities

*Continuously initiate new food sourcing avenues; oversee and lead all activities relating to sourcing donated and purchased food items & food collection efforts

*Manage and implement policies, strategic plan and programs of the RCCFP

*With the assistance of the Office Manager, maintain all Board records, including Board meeting minutes, Executive Committee meetings and ensure effective management of Board records

*Assist the Volunteer Coordinator in efforts to recruit, on-board, develop and execute safety and operational training; motivate and supervise all pantry volunteers

*Ensure adequate staff and volunteer coverage and oversee day-to-day activities of staff volunteers

*Conduct staff training and development for our volunteer and office staff of over 70 people

* Facilitate ongoing communications with pantry staff and volunteers including conflict management, adherence to established operational processes, team building and positive promotion of the pantry mission and values

*Oversee and ensure safe and effective implementation of all food pantry services as well as all administrative and operational activities

*Champion the pantry mission and values in all pantry operations, amongst pantry volunteers and interaction with clients/community

*Review, update and maintain food pantry protocols and standards

*Ensure that all federal and state policies, guidelines and regulations for 1.  client care and 2.  Food safety and storage, are met

*Assist the Office Manager in maintaining weekly, monthly and annual demographic and service data and reports

*Facilitate ongoing communication with pantry staff and volunteers

*Analyze operational procedures with a focus on continuous quality improvement and implement new strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

*Manage board approved operating budget and maintain control of operations and costs

*Support relevant board committees as assigned

*Represent the Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry throughout the community and provide outreach for the purposes of program awareness, education, food donation and fundraising

*Monitor and maintain facility, equipment and vehicles and communicate with leadership regarding capital needs, cleaning, repair and overall safety issues

*Demonstrate teamwork and support of the Pantry mission and values

*Comply with all Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry policies and standards

*Attend all Board meetings as an ex officio member

*With the assistance of the Office Manager, maintain the financial records of the organization

* Provide monthly financial & operational reports to the Board of Directors

*Performs other duties as required or assigned

Ideal Candidate Qualifications & Background

*Bachelor’s degree in business or non-profit management or equivalent experience

*A minimum of five years of experience in a corporate environment, service-related industry or non-profit organization.  Food industry experience is a plus with knowledge of food pantry operations and best practice standards

*Experience evaluating and updating operational procedures for continuous quality improvement

*Prior supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to motivate and manage diverse personalities

*Advanced verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community

*Experience in preparing and managing a budget

*Ability to respond appropriately, fairly and diplomatically to sensitive and confidential issues

*Ability to use general office equipment, computers, spreadsheets and other related software programs

*Essential to possess a natural desire and propensity toward charitable service

Travel

Local travel is required to attend meetings, pick up/drop off donations and attend other St. Louis based activities to promote the pantry
