Job Description: Program Director

Who We Are: 
– Eye Thrive is a locally recognized 501c3 nonprofit that empowers children to pursue their full potential by delivering essential eyecare across the St. Louis region.
– Each school year Eye Thrive provides 15,000+ vision screenings, 5,000+ comprehensive eye exams, 6,000+ prescription glasses, 2,000+ replacement glasses, and 200+ follow-up care referrals, all completely free of charge.
– Eye Thrive is positioned to double our capacity with a second Mobile Vision Clinic in 2025 allowing us to double our impact on the lives of kids in St. Louis.

Job Overview:
– The Program Director is an integral part of the leadership team and manages all Eye Thrive programming. They ensure the delivery of high-quality programming and outcomes while also providing supervision, development, and coaching to all program staff.
– An ideal Program Director is a solution focused problem solver who is able to respond quickly and appropriately in changing or stressful situations. A successful Program Director will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects. Excellent communication skills are essential to interact and build relationships with students, families, school communities, staff, and vendors.

Job Type: 
– Permanent; Full Time; Exempt.
– 40 hours/week; On occasion may be required to work extended hours.
– Reports to Executive Director.
– Participation in morning/evening meetings and special events will be required as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Management:
– Leads a high-performing operations team with comprehensive onboarding, high-quality trainings, effective mentorships and coaching, and objective evaluations.
– Directs the development and implementation of operational plans that include action steps to achieve program goals.
– Supports operations staff with day-to-day operational and logistical issues and concerns.

Partnerships:
– Acts as primary representative and contact with school and community partners.
– Cultivates and maintains strong partnerships with community partners and outside agencies.
– Participates in community meetings and collaborates with external stakeholders.

Implementation:
– Sets and maintains a tone for the operations team that prioritizes our kids and establishes a standard of empathy and understanding.
– Develops and recommends new protocols to respond to changes in program needs, objectives, and priorities and to improve the effectiveness of programs.
– Creates and maintains mobile vision clinic and screening calendars. Delegates staff for visits and shares calendar weekly with staff.

Evaluation:
– Plans, develops, and implements program evaluation.
– Identifies trends and assesses opportunities to improve processes and execution.
– Produces monthly outcomes reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.

Leadership:
– Partners with the Executive Director to implement and manage strategic plan as it applies to operations
– Participates in board meetings as requested.

Compensation and Benefits:  
– Salary between $65,000-$75,000; Commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree or higher.
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience with program management and supervising employees.
– Non-profit experience preferred.
– Proficient skill level with Google Workplace and Microsoft Office.

Work Environment:
– Works at a shared workspace office at the Delmar DivINe.
– Works on-site during Eye Thrive visits at various schools and community centers throughout Greater St. Louis, as needed.

Physical Demands:
– Must be able to lift and carry 15 pounds during site set-up and tear-down on the Mobile Vision Clinic, as needed.
– Ability to move up and down stairwells on Mobile Vision Clinic, as needed.
