SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Salesforce Administrator to join our team and help ensure our organization gets the most value out of its investment in Salesforce. You’ll be helping a small team of nonprofit professionals use the tools and capabilities of the system effectively and efficiently.
The successful candidate will have a good general understanding of how nonprofit organizations run, and quickly get up to speed about how our organization runs. Having experience with various nonprofit CRMS and understanding the importance of tracking and managing constituent data will be important factors. This role requires a proactive individual that can help us continually improve and enhance our Salesforce platform by gathering requirements and feedback, assisting in designing scalable best practice solutions, and managing the “roadmap” for our technology future. Success in this role will come from communication and translation skills, active listening to staff members’ needs and creating a Salesforce user experience to match. Ultimately, this position is the primary advocate for Salesforce within the organization and will help to appropriately expand its use.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain clean and accurate constituent, donation, and memberships data.
- Assess options for optimizing and customizing the system as we grow and evolve.
- Run reports and/or build report templates for other staff members to run.
- Import batches of data from other systems as needed.
- Configure and maintain Salesforce integrations to various other systems (Ticketure and Flashparking).
- Oversee user and license management (user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, etc.).
- Provide support and training for staff in data entry and basic data management.
- Train staff members on the effective use of Salesforce to increase organization adoption and standardize processes.
- Attend regular meetings with various departments to keep up to date on issues and opportunities for growth.
- Work with our managed service partner to get help and coaching as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong Salesforce product knowledge and at least 2+ years hands-on Salesforce Administration experience.
- Experience working in a data management role with a nonprofit organization (ideally more than one).
- Proven customer service orientation combined with the ability to work well with others.
- Creativity, initiative, excitement about the possibilities of Salesforce.
- Spreadsheet expertise (Excel or Google Sheets).
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to people of varying technical skill levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or computer science, or equivalent years of related work experience.
- Salesforce Associate or Administrator certification.
- Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud certification.
- Experience learning skills and earning badges on Salesforce Trailhead platform.
- Any background with SQL or other database query languages.
