Position Summary

The Program Officer will be a key contributor to the Foundation’s annual grantmaking and impact investment process. This position is accountable for managing a portfolio of grants and impact investments. In particular, this position will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong grantee relationships and providing ongoing monitoring of grantee and investment performance. Finally, the Program Officer will work collaboratively across the Foundation team on various tasks including identification, due diligence and vetting of grant and impact investment proposals.  The Program Officer will report directly to the Director of Grants and Impact Investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Grants and Impact Investments throughout the due diligence, vetting, grants management, and investment processes.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships and consult with the Foundation’s grantees and investees to promote successful outcomes.
  • Prepare regular progress reports on existing grants and investment portfolios.
  • Conduct analysis and monitoring of new grants and impact investments through both invited and open calls for proposals.
  • Assist in the identification of strategic opportunities for grant making and impact investment with potential for social as well as financial return.
  • Aid the development of grant programs consistent with Foundation strategy and support other programs as appropriate.
  • Communicate the Foundation’s grantmaking priorities, guidelines, and proposal review process.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in grantmaking, investment management, or impact advisory roles
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to take initiative and focus on execution
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
