The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis is to provide comfort, care and a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. Our objective is to enable families to practice family-centered care by providing them with all of the basic comforts of home.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis has a full-time Assistant Family Services Manager position open.  This position is part of a mission-focused team of professionals providing compassion and hospitality to families with seriously ill children.

This position assists with the daily House Operations, Guest Services and Management of the 20 bedroom house at the West County House.

As part of the RMHC management, the position collaborates with the leadership team to achieve position and organizational goals in support of the RMHC mission and Core Values.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to handle emergency situations
  • Ability to handle payments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Experience in working with families, volunteers, customers, or general public is preferred
  • Ability to adjust schedule to fit organization’s needs

Essential Functions

  • Guest Services
    • Oversees guest family services during shift
    • Works to create a comfortable, supportive environment for guest families
    • Monitors guest family observance of policies and procedures during their stay
    • Addresses any guest family situations requiring action in a discreet and appropriate manner and consults with the House Manager
  • House Operations
    • Assists with operation of West County House
    • Updates information in RMHC guest family database
    • Manages nightly occupancy report
    • Maintains and manages facility management software
    • Assists with facility maintenance tasks and projects and oversee preventative maintenance schedule
  • Management
    • Supports the Family Dinner Program
    • Supervises and train assigned volunteers and service groups.
    • Receive and properly document in-kind and cash donations, and payments for lodging
  • Responds to emergency situations occurring in the House
  • Responsible for on-call duties as scheduled or assigned

Physical Demands

Must be able to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects.  Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 25 lbs.   Must be able to frequently climb stairs, including up to 3 flights, and frequently walk distances up to approximately 80 yards.  Must be able to travel between RMH locations as needed.
