Overview

Position Summary
The Director of Community Engagement and Philanthropy is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing annual and multi-year strategies to increase agency partnerships and revenue through brand recognition, community engagement and fundraising. Includes development of a long-term vision that will inspire staff, lead volunteers and donors, and yield positive resource development results to grow services for children with disabilities and delays. The Director of Community Engagement and Philanthropy serves as a member of the agency’s leadership team.

Organization Description
United Services for Children is a nonprofit organization that provides pediatric therapy and early intervention services to children of all abilities and offers support services for their families. We focus on children ages birth through 8 years old. Our center is located at 3420 Harry S. Truman Boulevard in St. Charles, MO.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Everyday conditions are in a typical office environment at the agency. This position may require occasional weekend/evening work. Must be able to:

–      Respectfully engage visitors, vendors, and parents.

–      Sit at a table/desk for most of the workday.

–      Access and maneuver between rooms throughout the building

–      Converse in person and via the telephone

–      Accurately operate all computer software pertinent to agency programs

–      Develop community relations in personal meetings, over the phone, and through email communications.

–      Operate office equipment

–      Lift and move up to 25 lbs. consistently and occasionally up to 45 lbs.

Requirements

Responsibilities
The  Director of Community Engagement and Philanthropy will:

–      Create, execute and evaluate philanthropy strategies with a donor-centered, diverse revenue portfolio to support agency services and growth.

–    Maintain and grow productive community relationships and partnerships.

–      Create and develop strategic sponsorship levels for events annually.

–      Develop fundraising events and annual events calendar.

–      Supervise development team and establish duties and expectations.

–      Develop and implement recruitment strategy for the solicitation of donations of goods and monetary gifts to generate income from annual events.

–      Oversee the agency marketing to develop and implement communications, marketing strategies and brand recognition.

–      Oversee the management of donor records and generate/analyze donor reports.

–      Develop tax credit proposal and manage record keeping.

–      Oversee receipts and payments from sponsorships, event donations, and donations via giving portals to coordinate with front office receipts.

–      Maximize fundraising capacity in the region through strong networking and engaging activities.

–      Inspire a culture of philanthropy and create of culture of giving among board members.

–      Recruit, build, and manage a team of volunteers to assist in event success and growth.

–      Oversee development staff, establish expectations, and inspect results.

–      Always model a standard of behavior consistent with agency expectations

Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Minimum

Experience Qualifications
Requires three to five years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge: Must be able to use donor database, wealth screening, giving software, mobile bidding, retail payment processing, and design software.

Skills: Must have effective and persuasive written, oral, and digital communication skills. Must demonstrate interpersonal and public speaking skills. Must be a strategic thinker, self-starter, and possess sound business judgement.

Abilities: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, be able to efficiently manage social media engagement, manage event brand posting, event creation, and manage third party giving platforms.
