The Donor and Alumni Relations Officer supports the planning, design, execution and evaluation of the annual fundraising plan, following best practices in annual and long-term strategies for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Support of the fundraising plan includes executing fundraising events and cultivating & managing a suite of corporate sponsors. This role also assists with alumni engagement and data management.
This is a Full-time, salaried position reporting directly to Head of Donor & Alumni Relations, and requires <5% travel. This position will not directly manage people. The total compensation range for this position is between [$58,000 – $71,500], with a starting budgeted annual base compensation of [$58,000-$65,000]. This is a hybrid position working both in-person at our St. Louis office and remote, with a schedule that may adjust for personal or family responsibilities and honor a work-life balance.
Role Responsibilities
- Individual Giving: Lead LaunchCode’s individual donor asks, including major donors and board members. Collaborate with Head of Donor & Alumni relations to identify the best media (email, direct mail, etc) to engage donors, and manage engagement accordingly.
- Corporate Sponsorships: Achieve annual corporate sponsorship targets by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate partnership accounts, providing timely communication and building relationships while implementing strategies to increase year-on-year giving.
- Fundraising Events: Achieve fundraising event targets through research, planning, strategizing, and collaboration with other department staff to deliver engaging, mission-focused events with effective fundraising and donor cultivation components.
- Alumni Engagement: Drive alumni engagement by managing LaunchCode’s alumni programming, which includes (but isn’t limited to) coordinating alumni committee meetings, providing resources to alumni implementing mission-focused initiatives, and activating alumni advocacy for LaunchCode.
- Administrative Support: Oversee timely recognition of donors with tax information. Ensure our Salesforce donor database is maintained for pulling accurate donor lists and details. Manage the annual individual donor appeal calendar.
- Physical requirements include: The position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment, necessitating extended periods of sitting at a desk or workstation for tasks involving keyboard and mouse use. Candidates should possess visual acuity for focusing on computer screens and documents, as well as manual dexterity for operating standard office equipment. While occasional lifting of light to moderate objects may be required, mobility within the office environment, effective communication skills, and accessibility for individuals with disabilities are also essential. Qualifications
- A deep commitment to our mission and values, and a passion for transforming the technology and workforce development/education sectors.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in non-profit fundraising, managing fundraising events and campaigns
- Experience with donor segmentation, coordinating, organizing, and executing donor campaigns
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Influential relationship building skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to execute independently and thrive in a fast paced, evolving culture
- Ability to overcome rejection, receive feedback, and remain adaptable
- Proficiency with donor management tools and/or CRMs
Nice to haves
- Experience implementing and maintaining donor management tools and/or CRMs
- Proficiency using Salesforce or Hubspot
