Community Hope Center

Job Summary

The Development Director grows the financial stability of Community Hope Center, a Christ-centered ministry, by building strategic and favorable relationships with potential donors through positive communication, personal requests to give, and disciplined follow-through. The Development Director will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Board of Directors and other staff.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

1.      Develop and implement short-term and long-term, high-impact action plans to engage donor prospects face to face, seeking their generous financial support for the mission and vision of CHC.

2.      Implement disciplined methods for contacting, scheduling, visiting, and personally following through to consistently grow a base of support from a growing number of donors.

3.      Establish and maintain contact with key individuals in businesses and foundations with the potential for contributing funds, services, or other resources.

4.      Maintain an appropriate level of visibility in the community.

5.      Organize and oversee various capital campaigns and giving campaigns.

6.      Provide leadership for major donor development events (small and large group meetings, key donor lunches, events, etc.)

7.      Develop print and digital marketing materials.

8.      Provide monthly board reports to Executive Director/Board of Directors.

9.      Attend occasional board meetings to report.

10. Maintain donor records and create reports in E-Tapestry Donor  Management Software.

11. Acknowledgement of all donations received.

12. Maintain strict confidentiality pertaining to donor records and information.

Working Conditions

This position will be a Hybrid work schedule.  The expectation is that the Development Director will be out visiting and making calls with current and prospective donors.  5-10 hours a week will be in office updating donor records, creating donor reports and responding to all donations received.

Qualifications

1.      Excellent interpersonal and relational skills:  a friendly, poised, and professional demeanor; tactful, courteous, energetic, and polite.

2.      Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with the expectations of the Executive Director.

3.      Ability to plan, set priorities, and implement work in a disciplined manner to keep multiple projects progressing to completion simultaneously with minimal direction.

4.      Ability to effectively utilize computer and database technology; experience with Excel and/or E-Tapestry helpful.

5.      Ability to create print and digital marketing materials

6.      Strong attention to detail, organized and have a positive attitude.

Experience Preferred

1.      2 years’ experience in development/fundraising.

2.      Experience in soliciting gifts of $500 or more.

3.      College degree.

Salary and Benefits

1.      Development Director is a salaried position based on a 35 hour work week.

2.      Salary range is $30,000 – $36,000 per year based on experience.  Paid bi-weekly.

3.      Twenty-five paid days off plus ten holidays per year. (The first year will be prorated.)
