Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County (BGCSTC) is seeking a part-time Grants & Development Specialist to support day to day grant management and donor stewardship processes.

In this role, the Specialist will take ownership of building out procedures around grant management, help to prepare funder-related reports, identify potential grant opportunities, and maintain comprehensive data records related to grants and donations. The Specialist will also support donor stewardship efforts including donor data entry, receipts, and campaigns. The Grants & Development Associate reports to the Director of Resource Development.

This part-time position is expected to work an average of 22-28 per week. The hourly pay range is $18-$24 per hour, depending on previous successful experience in a similar role. This position could potentially be a hybrid role with both in-person and remote work after onboarding is complete and has the potential to become a full-time role in the future.

Core Responsibilities:

●     Design/adapt procedures and tools to be used for developing, executing, and monitoring grant proposals and applications.

●     Research and identify likely funding sources and analyze each to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.

●     Compile, write, and edit all grant applications exhibiting strong expository writing skills and a high-level command of proper grammar and spelling with oversight and support from the Director of Resource Development.

●     Ensure award files are up to date, comprehensive and “handover ready” at any time.

●     Maintain current donor and grant records in Virtuous CRM and google drive.

●     Monitor and organize grant reporting requirements and translate these milestones into actionable items for program teams to complete.

●     Oversee the production of grant reports to include both programmatic and financial progress updates.

●     Collaborate closely with the Finance and Operations teams on grant compliance.

●     Support Director of Resource Development team to expand fundraising programs through funder research and prospecting efforts.

●     Support Director of Resource Development on stewardship planning, implementation, and follow up.

●     Prepare and share materials for funder related meetings with relevant internal stakeholders across staff teams.

●     Successfully complete all assignments to specifications, within specified timeframe and budget as directed and in accordance with agency policies and regulations.

●     Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

●     A minimum of one year of experience working in a development function at a nonprofit.

●     Nonprofit database management experience required.

●     Exceptional written communication skills.

●     Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

●     Extensive project management skills in planning, executing, and leading projects to ensure milestones are met.

●     Motivated self-starter who values learning, contributes as part of a team and thrives in a collaborative environment.

●     Ability to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

●     Ability to take grant ideas from personnel and translate into format required by grant agencies; read, comprehend, interpret, and apply grant regulations and proposal guidelines; plan, develop and coordinate grant programs.

●     Skill in use of computers and various software including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and donor database system (Virtuous) used to perform daily functions of position.

●     Working knowledge of grants and government funding resources and the data sources necessary for developing grant proposals.

●     Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with BGCSTC employees and with representatives of other related agencies.

●     Ability to assist with event set up to include lifting, standing, and transporting materials.
