Job Title​: Events & Engagement Specialist

Salary Range: $48,000-52,000

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Events & Engagement Specialist (EES) supports TWSHs ability to engage the community and our supporters to fulfill the mission. The EES will work to cultivate, secure, and maintain community partners and sponsors. The EES will have a specific focus on all internal and external fundraising events, strategic partnerships, and management of organizational marketing and communication efforts. The role requires strong communication background and organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and a positive can-do attitude. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow their experience in non-profit development and is passionate about engaging and expanding TWSH supporters through education and outreach.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)

●      Develop and maintain corporate and community partnerships to achieve revenue goals, enhance TWSH engagement, and increase brand awareness.

●      Support all fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Development Team.

●      Responsible for segmented donor levels.

●      Research and manage partnership prospects.

●      Create and execute strategic marketing plans to support fundraising objectives and raise public awareness.

●      Lead all aspects of special events, including planning, registration, sponsorship solicitation, silence auction, coordination, and post-event support.

●      Provide excellent customer service to event attendees, donors, and sponsors, ensuring a positive experience and fostering long-term relationships.

●      Manage TWSH website, social media, event and other digital platforms.

●      Coordinate and lead Give STL Day and Giving Tuesday initiatives.

●      Lead the planning and implementation of all special events, both fundraisers and “friend-raisers,” ensuring quality promotion, coordination, and execution.

●      Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to promote TWSH’s mission.

●      Represent TWSH at speaking engagements and community events.

●      Secure and guide external fundraisers; develop fundraising guides.

●      Serve as a liaison for Event Committees and the Young Professionals Board.

●      Create and implement public relations plans, including press releases and newsletters.

●      Create all written and electronic educational pieces for the organization, including flyers, brochures, newsletters, invitations, presentations, and reports.

●      Produce development dashboards to track fundraising progress.

●      Create solicitation and outreach lists.

●      Ensure that all information regarding programs, events and special recognition is delivered to the media in a creative and timely manner.

●      Create fundraising appeal letters and annual report, coordinate with printers for distribution, and track all results.

●      Collaborate with Development Team to make media contacts and work with various media outlets to seek coverage of organization’s programs and achievement.

●      Create measures for recording success and opportunities for improvement; track analytics and produce reports.

●      Generate a written recap for each event.

●      Maintain event planning documents, sites, and event workflow.

●      Communicate effectively, highlighting updates, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions.

●      Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

This position may supervise interns and relative volunteers as necessary.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

●      Frequent and regular internal contact with Program and Development staff to identify opportunities for marketing and communications.

●      In depth reporting to the Director of Development and Advancement.

●      Interact with media outlets and community partners to promote TWSH.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Education:​ Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, marketing, business, or related field from accredited college or university preferred.

Experience:​

·       Minimum 2 years of Marketing/Communications Experience.

·       Minimum 5 years of Fundraising Event Planning.

·       Minimum 2 years of Fundraising and/or Community Partnership Experience.

Knowledge:​​​​

●      Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

●      Must have excellent presentation skills.

●      Must have excellent public speaking skills.

●      Must have a high level of computer use skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google.

●      Must have advanced skills and knowledge of Canva.

●      Must have proficient Graphic Design skills.

●      Must have significant experience coordinating Fundraising Events

●      Must have strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment.

●      Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

●      Must have a high comfort level working with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

●      Must have a professional, approachable manner.

●      Must be willing to learn new skills and have flexibility to adapt to change.
