Guardian Angel Settlement Association

Qualifications: BA/BS in social work, psychology, or closely related field plus 2 years of related experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, counseling/advocacy training and experience, ability to work with diverse populations, and ability to handle stressful situations and use good judgment are also required. Local travel necessary, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance required.

Responsibilities:

·         Meet with individuals to assess housing stability barriers of individuals and families.

·         Using an assessment tool, assist individuals in development of strength-based solutions focused on individualized goals and action plans that promote permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

·         Assist individuals in applying for appropriate local, state, federal benefits.

·         Assist with identifying skills, supports and resources needed by individual to ensure housing stability

·         Assist individuals to find transportation to access services as needed.

·         Provide pro-active follow-up to ensure stability and further progress to housing stability. This includes support, advocacy, listening, and problem solving.

·         Maintain files and records of clients served including completing intakes, entering information into the database, and completing necessary documentation of services including statistical and programmatic reporting as required.

·         Participate and facilitate community meetings and workshops.

·         Provide consultation to other community providers as appropriate.

·         Work with and maintain positive working relationships with other community partners.

·         Maintain and update a list of community resources.

·         Provide support for all areas of social stability programs.

·         Help create procedures and processes for the Housing Stability Programs.

·         Supervise BSW level interns.

·         Perform related duties as assigned.

General and Related Responsibilities:

·         Assist with fundraising, outreach, and community awareness activities.

·         Participate in staff meetings and training.

·         Represent the Agency at related community events, meetings and training courses as requested.

Qualifications

•   Bachelor’s or associate degree in human development & Family Studies, Liberal Arts & Sciences, or Social Work.

·   Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.

·   Team player with a flexible, creative approach and a commitment to Guardian Angel’s mission.

·   Intermediate computer skills with a strong comprehension of Office 365, Salesforce, and QuickBooks.

·   Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects.

·   Superior verbal and written communication skills and ability to understand and critically analyze complex documents and contracts.

·   Proven ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Board members, vendors, representatives of other nonprofits, staff, and clients..

·   Proven ability to exhibit emotional control, patience, and persistence in stressful circumstances.

·   Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

·   Ability to maintain professional boundaries with all staff and clients.

·   Valid driver’s license
