Meds & Food for Kids, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Haiti by providing life-saving nutritional support, seeks a passionate and skilled Director of Development to join our team in St. Louis. This is not just a job—it’s a chance to be a part of a mission that changes lives every day. This position reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with department heads and program managers.

Responsibilities:

• Devise a cost-effective plan to increase fundraising in the coming year.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Development Committee of the MFK Board to create a mission-focused development plan.
• Identify, cultivate, and steward donors, grantors, and stakeholders, locally and beyond St. Louis.
• Solicit major gifts, legacy giving, corporate funding, and grants, while managing the grant writing process for foundation and corporate contributions.
• Build positive relationships with donors, partners, and other organizations to advance MFK’s mission.
• Manage donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship programs, and oversee the donor database, including data entry, query, and report production.
• Utilize data and analytics to target solicitation and communication strategies.
• Develop and execute outreach, communications, and marketing plans.
• Plan and coordinate special events and direct the communication, marketing, and outreach efforts.
• Supervise, direct, and manage the development department employees, fostering organizational capacity for increased fundraising.

Who We’re Looking For:

• 5-10 years of experience in Development and Fundraising.
• Experience in international humanitarian work and management, particularly within start-up or small business environments.
• Proven success in grant research, application, and management.
• Portfolio of samples of successful campaigns with goals and outcomes.
• Writing samples for solicitations, donor communications, and other outreach.
• Expertise in creating strategic fundraising, communication, and branding campaigns.
• Strong research and cultivation skills for major gifts and major donors.
• Excellent communication skills, with a knack for building relationships.

This job is a full-time position, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a position that is expected to be self-directed and demonstrate leadership in office policies and protocols. This position is responsible for managing 1 direct report within the development department. The position offers full health care benefits (medical, dental, and vision) and a Simple IRA with a 3% matching employer contribution. Paid time off includes 3 weeks of vacation plus five days of personal/sick leave. The pleasant, small office environment is in the Webster Groves / Shrewsbury area.

Annual Salary: $78,000.00-$93,000.00
