Job title:  Pink Ribbon Good Community Engagement Coordinator

Reports to:  Pink Ribbon Good’s St. Louis Regional Director

Mission:  PRG exists to serve every person and family affected by breast and gynecological cancer. We provide healthy meals, rides to treatment, housecleaning essentials, and peer support so no one is alone in the fight. All services are free of charge and independent of age, stage, or socio-economic considerations. PRG currently provides services in six regions: Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, St. Louis, Buffalo and the San Francisco Bay area.

Job purpose:  The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for working with the Regional Director to assist in executing our strategic plan to expand the PRG Community in the St. Louis region. The Community Engagement Coordinator will build relationships on behalf of PRG to increase awareness and community involvement in the region. A hard worker who is flexible, creative and passionate about helping our clients, survivors and others in the community will find success in this position.  Please note this position requires working some weekend events and occasional evenings during the week.

Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Regional Director in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive community engagement program for St. Louis to create brand awareness and increase fundraising through community events.
  • Cultivate, manage and steward our Associate Board in St. Louis comprised of young professionals that financially fuel our mission.
  • Plan, organize, and execute our annual Trivia Night and Party with a Purpose fundraising events, which are the two largest fundraisers for the Associate Board.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed a comprehensive fundraising goal of $300,000, encompassing various revenue streams including individual donations, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events such as Trivia Night and Party with a Purpose.
  • Manage PRG’s social media channels for the St. Louis region including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
  • Create dynamic written and graphic content for social media platforms for regional community engagement activities, including volunteer opportunities and events.
  • Plan and host monthly in-person peer support events for PRG clients.
  • Build relationships with key strategic networks in the region, i.e., schools, businesses, chambers, etc.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events with community partners.
  • Represent PRG at regional community events.
  • Create volunteer opportunities and communicate the needs to the community.
  • Responsible for volunteer management, including growing the volunteer base while motivating and supporting volunteers.
  • Educate and empower volunteers to manage, plan, and coordinate volunteer events and speaking engagements.
  • Assist with donor stewardship and lead efforts to thank and recognize volunteers on an ongoing basis.
  • Use technology and data to inform development of engagement strategies and record success of each touchpoint within Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Work closely with the other regions of PRG, especially community engagement colleagues within the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of experience required, related field preferred
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Experience working with community-based organizations strongly preferred
  • Self-starter, innovator, results-driven with ability to meet short- and long-term business goals
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks with deadlines
  • Proven management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop relationships
  • Participation in volunteer management and engagement, support, and training; past experience in a training role desired
  • Demonstrates the ability to work productively and discreetly with sensitive issues and confidential information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer service-oriented phone manner, and excellent listening skills
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and other word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds to a height of 3-4 feet for various events
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Passionate about the PRG mission

Working conditions:  While the PRG headquarters is in Dayton, Ohio, this Community Engagement Coordinator position will be based in the St. Louis area. There is a co-working office space in St. Louis available for use.
