SUMMARY: The Grant Manager works with the Development Department to research, apply, and report on grant opportunities for Caring Solutions. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining contacts with private, public, and governmental granting organizations. The Grant Manager must also manage and maintain a grant tracking system for ease of reporting and planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

All grant writing activities including:

1.    Complete foundation and corporate grant research to identify prospects for grant applications and corporate support requests.

2.    Maintain a grant tracking system to manage prospects, purpose, status, and progress reports for all grants.

3.    Establish and maintain relationships with Grantee staff and trustees for targeted grants.

4.    Complete and submit grant applications that are targeted to meet Caring Solutions’ specific needs and funding targets.

5.    Work closely with Program Staff, Human Resources, and Accounting departments to collect and create supporting documentation for grants.

6.    Ensure all grants and progress reports are submitted in a timely manner and/or grant extensions are requested as needed.

7.    Regularly report on grant status to Development Director, Executive Director, Board of Directors, and committees.

·         Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

·         Ability to create and manipulate Excel documents and use simple formulas.

·         Ability to use or willingness to learn to navigate GiveSmart CRM.

·         Ability to perform mathematical calculations necessary to ensure and verify accuracy of development reports.

·         Must possess excellent communication skills verbally and in writing.

·         Must be able to work with other departments to gather information and data.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor’s degree in human services or communications related field preferred.

·         3-5 years of experience in the field of disabilities and/or fundraising required.

·         1-2 years of experience in grant writing required.
