Accounting Coordinator
The Accounting Coordinator will assist the Director of Finance with preparing and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is primarily responsible for preparing, recording, coordinating, and administering a broad range of financial functions and duties including accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
The Pulitzer Arts Foundation offers a competitive minimum annual salary of $45,000 commensurate with experience. Position Responsibilities
- Review all invoices and credit card transactions for correct coding, approvals, overall accuracy, and verify the budget
- Process all weekly accounts payable and assist in preparing checks for signature and mailing
- Reconcile billing statements and conduct audits to ensure that all payments are reflected accurately in the general ledger
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and documentation of the finance department processes
- Assist with preparing and recording journal entries to record or update transactions and preparation for annual financial audit
- Review coding and record all credit card transactions into the accounting software
- Serve as main contact for accounts payable and credit card related expenses and information to staff and vendors
- Create and maintain all accounts payable vendor, W9, and 1099 files and other financial files as needed
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Finance and the Director of Human Resources as needed

Preferred Experience and Background Skills
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred or equivalent education or work experience
- High degree of attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software or other accounting software preferred
- Strict adherence to professional ethics and a high standard of care and security
- Ability to work independently and interdepartmentally
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with specific knowledge and proven skills with Excel is preferred
