DATABASE COORDINATOR
Wings of Hope is a nonprofit, global humanitarian aviation organization headquartered in Chesterfield, MO. Our mission is to change and save lives through the power of aviation. We accomplish this through our three program areas: the Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program, our Global Humanitarian Network (GHN), and our SOAR into STEM (SiS) educational programs.
SUMMARY
The Database Coordinator will be an integral part of the development team. The coordinator will serve in this critical administrative role, reporting to the Director of Development and Communications and working closely with the Development Manager, the finance department, volunteers, and donors. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining the organization’s donor database and is vital to development department operations with responsibility for gift entry and acknowledgment, as well as reporting and analytics. The position will also assist with events, mailings, and general office tasks as required.
KEY PRIORITIES
- Process donations to Wings of Hope, ensure gift entries in the database match records maintained in accounting and support reconciliation as needed.
- Enter data accurately and in a timely manner with high attention to detail.
- Work with staff and volunteers to create, update, and maintain data entry standards, ensure the database is used properly by all staff and volunteers, and meet the organization’s needs while overseeing data integrity.
- Produce gift acknowledgments and pledge reminders.
- Oversee donor stewardship activities such as assigning thank you calls, updating gift acknowledgment language and templates, etc.
- Create, interpret, and analyze regular fundraising status reports, conduct queries to retrieve data, and create lists based on requested parameters when requested by staff.
- Work with the Development Manager to ensure that an accurate prospect management framework to manage workflow for gift officers is in place to advance solicitation efforts.
- Oversee integration between database and email marketing software.
- Manage accounts for donation and matching gift programs.
- Prepare schedules and support documentation for the annual audit cycle in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- At least two years of related experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Data management experience, especially CRM.
- Experience working with Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud products
- Experience with Microsoft Office
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Able to handle confidential donor information with sensitivity, integrity, and accuracy
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with a team
- Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access (hybrid work schedule available)
COMPENSATION
The Database Coordinator is a full-time (40/hrs./week), salaried position reporting directly to the Director of Development and Communications. Option to work a hybrid schedule. Employee benefits including health, dental, and vision available. A generous vacation and time off policy is also offered. Salary range is: $57,000-$62,000.
