L-A-D Foundation

The L-A-D Foundation is a Missouri private operating foundation dedicated to exemplary stewardship of Pioneer Forest and other natural and cultural areas and to scientific areas research, education, public recreation, and encouragement for projects and policies that have a positive influence on the Missouri Ozark region and beyond.

General Description:  Located in downtown St. Louis, this part-time position is responsible for managing all aspects of clerical work for a three-person office and supporting the Business Manager and Board Liaison in grant writing and outreach and education initiatives.

Hours: 20 hours/week, flexible schedule

Specific duties:

  • Responsibility for clerical tasks, including answering phones, monitoring the organization’s email account, drafting correspondence, printing materials and preparing mailings, preparing meeting materials and meeting minutes, organizing and maintaining physical and electronic file systems, and ensuring the organization is complying with our Document Retention Policy
  • Ensuring office space is well-organized and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Supporting outreach and education initiatives by assisting with updates to the Foundation’s website, assisting with development of outreach materials, and maintaining a catalogue of photos and historical materials
  • Monitoring social media and news outlets for mentions of the Foundation and its properties.
  • Responding to information requests from staff, board members, and the general public
  • Supporting grants research, grants writing, and reporting on grant activities
  • Assisting, as needed, with event planning and other tasks

Required skills:

  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Must have demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively
  • Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Experience with grant application and reporting preferred
  • Experience with social media use preferred
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and WordPress preferred
  • Enthusiasm for land conservation a plus!
