The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for an Associate Director Service Extension. In conjunction with the Divisional Director of Service Extension this position is responsible for the fund raising, marketing, management, planning, and implementation of program activities that will benefit the service extension units throughout the Midland Division. This position assists the Divisional Service Extension Director in providing support to the Service Extension units and their efforts to raise and distribute funds in accordance with the Salvation Army Mission.
This is a full-time exempt position, 40 hours per week, with the salary ranging from $55,000 – $60,000 Annually.

Essential Functions

- Assists Divisional Service Extension Director in creating and implementing short-term and long-term strategic plans for the department and its units that promote financial and program development in accordance with the Salvation Army Mission and the Service Extension Vision.
- Identifies, creates, and provides appropriate resources and trainings for units to reach their goals with an emphasis on programmatic goals; leveraging their knowledge and experience with social services best practices to ensure existing and new programming aligns with national standards.
- Assists in the development and dissemination of communications to all units, e.g. monthly newsletters, HQ communications, annual reports
- Conducts or coordinates Safe From Harm trainings to ensure 100% Safe From Harm compliance across the department.
- Assists Service Units in grant preparation and utilization, e.g., United Way, EFSP, MHTF, and other potential funding sources.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with all units through phone calls, emails, and occasional visits as needed.
- Understands and is able to assist with the preparation and submission of budgets and monthly reports as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe from Harm guidelines.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with unit adviser members, clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others’ property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.
- Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises volunteers and staff in absence of the Divisional Director of Service Extension.
Minimum Qualifications
·Bachelor’s Degree in related area and at least 3 years related work experience. Will consider combination of education and experience.
·Technologically savvy and a strategic thinker.
·Volunteer management and/or supervisory experience.
·Position requires valid driver’s license, ability to pass TSA MVR check, and reliable transportation.
·Must be a team player, self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
·Demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work successfully under pressure and deadlines.
Skills

·Possess working knowledge and skill in computer software applications including Office 365, word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail.

Travel: Requires frequent daytime travel throughout MO and Southern IL with occasional overnights.

FULL TIME: Normal work hours will be determined with supervisor; however, occasional extended hours and other workdays may be required.
