The Salvation Army Midland Division Family Haven Shelter located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Residential Care Supervisor. The individual in this position will ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents of the Family Haven Emergency Shelter. Provides direct supervision of 24-hour Residential Aides and PRN staff on all shifts. Performs the duties of Residential Aide’s to cover RA’s vacancies. This position is expected to work rotating shifts, at least monthly, to adequately supervise all RA staff.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with starting salary of $58,656 Annually.

Essential Functions
- Supervision of Residential Aides (RA) and PRN Staff Provide direct supervision of Residential Aides on all shifts
- Recruit and supervise all PRN staff
- Provide initial and ongoing training and development of RA/PRN staff
- Schedule 24-hour Residential Aide staffing and substitute for any absences when unable to arrange peer or PRN coverage
- Conduct regular staff meetings at least once per month
- Complete employee consultations and Annual Employee Evaluations
- Ensure positive relationships between residents and RA staff and the ongoing provision of quality customer service
- Daily Living for Residents Ensure welcoming and therapeutic environment for residents
- Oversee resident room assignments and ensure room turnover when vacancies occur
- Conduct room checks with RA staff
- Maintain regular contact with the residents for continued assessment of needs
- Ensure that house rules are being followed by residents and supported by RA staff
- Provide Interventions for troubling residential behavior and incident reports as needed
- Maintain resident rosters and daily bed count and distribute to appropriate internal and external sources
- Ensure all relevant data is entered into client databases, including HMIS and SIMS
- Compile and maintain statistics for completing monthly Child and Adult Care Feeding Program report
- Revise and update forms used by RA staff as needed
- Facility/Program Plan, schedule and record monthly fire drills.
- Attend weekly Case Managers meeting and actively participates in the meeting by providing residential insights
- Co-facilitate monthly residents meeting with Program Director as well as some evening groups with residents.
- Conduct tours of facility as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe from Harm guidelines.
- Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human service/social service field or related area plus 3 years of work-related experience is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Supervisory and homeless services experience strongly preferred. Must be available to fill any vacant shifts to ensure proper coverage of facility.
Requires some computer word processing, spreadsheet and email experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; understanding of those experiencing homelessness and poverty. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment.
Physical and Working Conditions
Capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, moving client files, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment. There will be times the individual is frequently in and out of vehicles. Employee Status
FULL-TIME: Work hours will be determined with supervisor. However, additional hours and some weekends may be required.
