About the Megan Meier Foundation

In December of 2007, Tina Meier founded the Megan Meier Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, in memory of her 13-year-old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier, who took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor pretending to be a boy on MySpace.

Our Mission

“To Support and Inspire Actions to End Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Suicide.”

The Role:  Executive Assistant to the Executive Director

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and professional Executive Assistant to support our Executive Director in managing daily operations, strategic priorities, and key relationships. This full-time, in-office role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and brings professionalism, discretion, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calendar & Travel Management: Coordinate meetings, events, and travel for the Executive Director.
  • Communication Support: Manage emails, phone calls, and correspondence on behalf of Executive Director.  This includes drafting and proofing internal and external correspondence.
  • Meeting Logistics: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and ensure follow up on action items.
  • Project Coordination: Support organizational initiatives, track deadlines, and assist with research and reporting.
  • Board and Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in board meeting preparation, maintain records, and liaise with board, community partners and donors.
  • Office Operations: Manage expense reports, office management tasks, and vendor relations.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: Maintain professionalism while managing sensitive information.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform moderate physical activities associated with community events and office support. Candidates must be able to:

  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand or remain on their feet for extended periods.
  • Navigate stairs and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, or moving event materials.

Participation in off-site community events is a key component of this role and may involve physical setup and breakdown of equipment or materials. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Schedule:

This position is currently listed as a full-time, salaried role. However, for the right candidate, we are open to discussing a part-time schedule ranging from 25–35 hours per week, provided the candidate is able to work onsite five days a week. We’re committed to finding the right fit and can offer flexibility for someone who brings strong qualifications and alignment with our mission.

This role requires occasional evening and weekend availability. Key dates—including two annual weekend fundraising events and approximately six evening Board of Directors meetings—are provided well in advance, typically at the start of each calendar year.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in executive support, project management, or nonprofit administration.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; project management tools such as Asana a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance and board coordination is a plus.
  • Resourcefulness – finding creative solutions to challenges, optimizing time management and troubleshooting proactively.
  • Accountability – follow through on critical thinking tasks and maintain high standards.
  • Anticipating the Executive Director’s needs.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from $50,000–$60,000, with a typical starting salary of $50,000–$53,000 and structured advancement opportunities to $55,000–$58,000 within the first year based on performance.

The Megan Meier Foundation is committed to supporting the well-being of our team and is currently exploring options for a health benefits package. Specific coverage details to be determined during the hiring process.
