Development & Communications Coordinator

Position Overview:

Kids Vision for Life St. Louis (KVFL) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Development & Communications Coordinator to support our growing nonprofit team. This full-time position plays a vital role in managing donor communications, coordinating fundraising efforts (including grants), and elevating KVFL’s presence through events, social media, and storytelling. This individual will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure we continue to provide critical vision services to underserved children across the St. Louis region.

Key Responsibilities:
Development + Fundraising:

Manage KVFL’s mid-level donor portfolio with a focus on stewardship and donor engagement
Support all aspects of fundraising events, including sponsor outreach, logistics, and promotion
Research and write compelling grant proposals and assist with grant reporting
Oversee donation tracking and acknowledgment processes in CRM database
Collaborate with Executive Director to implement annual fundraising strategies
Communications + Marketing:

Create and manage content across KVFL’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Assist with writing donor emails, newsletters, and impact stories that inspire support
Maintain brand voice and messaging across all marketing channels
Create creative graphics and visuals for events, campaigns, and updates
Photograph or collect visual assets at clinic events, fundraisers, and school visits

General + Administrative:
Track donor, media, and partner engagement using Salesforce or other platforms
Assist with organizing special projects, community events, and school outreach
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director as needed

Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or marketing
Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail and storytelling
Familiarity with social media marketing tools and basic graphic design (e.g. Canva)
Experience with CRM or donor databases
Self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple priorities
Passion for community health, education, and equity

Additional Details:
Occasional evening or weekend events required
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Salary range: $50,000–$60,000, based on experience
