The role:

College Bound’s Development Manager is charged with maintaining and improving the team’s operations, providing project management support to the team’s various fundraising initiatives throughout the year, executing high-quality events, supporting and engaging volunteers, and building relationships with CB supporters.

Your responsibilities:

1. Development Operations:

  •  Donation and invoice management: Gift processing and acknowledgment within 48 hours of receipt. Invoicing and gift follow-up.
  • Salesforce & Financial Management: Maintaining accurate gift and relationship data, collaboration with the finance department and CB office manager, including oversight of YOP tax credit processes; lead reporting and workflow management process development and implementation with support of the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO); maintain Development manual with input from the development team. Take the lead on extracting data from Salesforce for fundraising and financial purposes. Manage invoice processing and credit card reconciliation for development program.
  • Classy: Create and maintain Classy online giving page and event pages.

2.Project Management

  • Campaign Monitor and Communications: Design and project manage the Development Communications Calendar, maintain audience lists, build out development related communications with CPO and contractual staff. Write copy as requested and edit and proof the work of others. Collaborate with CB contractual marketing professional for design needs.
  • Story Collector: Connect with program staff to stay up to date on what is happening, design and maintain a system for getting updates for fundraising use. Participate in the social media committee.
  • Annual Report & Other Mass Initiatives: Lead project manager on Annual Report and other mailings and projects such as end-of-year appeals and other mass mailings with input from CPO and Chief Executive Officer. Project manage marketing consultant and communications consultant.

3. Donor Relations:

  • Event Management: Lead CB event planning and execution with input from key CB staff, project manage event planner for annual gala Cap & Gown, support event sponsor follow-ups as needed.
  • Volunteer & CB Ambassador Management: Serve as the first point of contact for all CB volunteer inquiries. Own management of various volunteer groups for development related activities.
  • Support Annual Fund Renewal & Stewardship Plan: Solicit renewals at $2,500 or less. Own stewardship plan for donors >$2,500. Provide stewardship planning support to CPO and CEO.
  • Grants Management: Maintain grants calendar and related documents. Track restricted funds in partnership with external CFO and CB team.  Project manage reports and communications. Support grant writer as requested.  Prospect new grants as requested.
  • CB Giving Club (Booster Club): Take lead on internal needs of giving club to prepare for CB Booster Club related activities. Manage CB Booster Club giving, renewals, and mass communication.
  • General office support: monitoring and maintaining team office supplies, room reservations, ordering food, preparing office for site visits
  • Opportunity to gain experience in other parts of fundraising, depending on team’s needs and personal interests
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills and experience:

Required Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree
  • Project management experience
  • Data management/database experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills
  • High-level organizational skills with strict attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or executing highly detailed events
  • Fundraising experience
  • Proficiency in donor management software such as eTapestry, Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge
