Summary:

The Manager, Project Management oversees the Project Management team and guides the team in determining and implementing project management processes and best practices for the organization.

In addition, the Manager, Project Management will serve as an active project manager,  acting as the primary partner to a project owner from initial project planning through project closeout. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that project needs and goals are clearly defined and understood by all team members, so that projects are completed on time and scope.

The Manager, Project Management will perform his/her duties consistent with the LHM’s strategic plans, policies and other guidelines, and with applicable laws.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise the Project Management team, evaluating and ensuring the quality and impact of the team’s services
  2. Identify and implement ideas for continuous improvement of project management services at LHM
  3. Coordinate with team leaders as needed to support the success of organizational and cross-functional goals
  4. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables, and risks
  5. Define project tasks and identify required resources, both internally and externally
  6. Assemble and coordinate project team members, based on project needs
  7. Facilitate good communication and teamwork among project team members
  8. Plan, schedule, and monitor project timelines
  9. Continuously monitor and report on progress of projects to relevant stakeholders
  10. Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  11. Draft and maintain appropriate project records
  12. When issues arise, troubleshoot and clearly articulate proposed solutions to the project owner and/or work directly with team members to remedy issues
  13. Analyze project workflows to identify efficiency opportunities
    Assist with other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong independent critical thinking and proactive problem solving skills
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills, often in ambiguous and changing situations
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 5 or more years project management experience
  • 5 or more years experience with email, word processing, and spreadsheet software
  • 5 or more years with a project management information system (PMIS).
  • Willingness and semi-regular availability for domestic travel, if located outside of St. Louis
  • Supportive of and enthusiastic about LHM’s unique mission and ministry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification
  • Experience using Wrike PMIS
  • Experience managing staff
